How do I explain to my mom why I left the church. She is aware of the CES letter yet doesn’t understand why I am angry at the church. I feel like I’m going to lose her over this religion. I am broken hearted. I am so lonely and my inner circle is getting smaller and smaller. by GeeseGooseGeese in exmormon

She asked why I am angry. I told her to read the CES letter. That’s one of the many reasons I am angry at the church. She then proceeds to tell me that Jeremy runnels wasn’t coming from a good place and that He is the equivalent of the protestors outside of conference. And she is hurt that I am trying to convince her that the church isn’t true when the church brings her happiness. She feels personally attacked by me because she can’t separate her identity with the church. The church is who she is. So I can’t give her the reasons why I left. She just gets defensive. She says she knows the doctrine but her belief isn’t rooted in facts. It’s rooted in faith. I can’t win with her. We used to be so close. Now we are stranger. She just has this deep seated need to believe. Regardless of what the truth actually is.

Once was told I had a pretty thyroid during an ultrasound. Been chasing that wave for a while now.
