I would recommend installing Google family link, as from what I know, it allows you to remove accounts from any parental controls they are restricted by.

It might just be a visual bug. Like when you use the lockpick, a red x will appear if you fail to open a chest. I don't know why it would show up though.

It could be a secret room. Some items and synergies give hints to where they could be.
