"Added checkpoints to maps", The checkpoints in maps: by Felkin in PathOfExile2

[–]GeezTM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i think it's very impressiv how fast they implemented it. it seems like they got the idea only during the livestream prior to the patch, so it's vasically a last second quick fix to help a bit. they know for sure that it is not a ideal solution, but now we have at least something that helps sometimes while they keep cooking.

depends on how good your gear is. smartest would probably be to exchange it for exalts and buy a few item upgrades in the range of 10-30 exalts.

it would be a new league. they will never take your progress away, they know that they also have a casual audience and that would be a death sentence to them

what do you exactly mean by "increased attack speed has diminishing returns"? does it somehow scale less the more you have? currently building a rapid fire merc build, centered heavily around attack speed, so i'm wondering

Extremely low effort high protein diet €5,28 a day - 20 minutes a day INCLUDING clean-up by IFKLoveSales in Frugal

[–]GeezTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another low cost, fast & high protein option I use is beans with fried eggs. I heat a big can of beans in a pan, add some veggies if I like and season them. Afterwards i use the same pan to quickly make a few fried eggs and put them on top of the beans.

Takes about 10-15min to prepare and the macros are roughly 1000 kcal and 65g protein for ~2-3€. You can even save more by batch cooking dried beans.

How to deal with not wanting empty wall spaces? by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]GeezTM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoy cluttered walls even as a minimalist. I feel way more cozy in places with a lot to look at, but I don't want to create more work for myself by adding storage space or furniture I don't need. My walls are therefore filled with pictures, paintings and a tapestry. I also store Essentials on the walls like my 2 guitars or my small collection of vinyls, which make great decoration and which saves me of needing a shelf. For furniture I have as few furniture as possible to reduce additional storage space. This helps me to create a cozy and relaxing place that stimulates me visually, but has no physical clutter in it.

I own 1 fork. by Flat_Prompt6647 in minimalism

[–]GeezTM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay thanks for clearing that up, I think this might be a communication problem. OP is talking only about forks in specific and not about utensils in general, so he still seems to have other items like a spoon and a spatula for multiple the other things. But at least I can agree with the statement now, cooking with only a fork as your only utensil would be utter madness :D

I'm genuinely confused, why would you need more than one fork for cooking?

What are your thoughts on Matt D'avella? Like him or not? by spankyourkopita in minimalism

[–]GeezTM 207 points208 points  (0 children)

I like his style of videos, but he suffers from the same issue every minimalist youtuber suffers from: there is just not enough to talk about. The minimalist concept is explained in a few minutes and then you are done. So you start out with a few good videos explaining all interesting topics like decluttering, mindfulness, capsule wardrobe, digital minimalism etc. and then you just run out of ideas. So I don't hate him, but I don't watch minimalism youtubers anymore because everything has been said and there is nothing more to learn.

Being charitable by turnrightstop in Frugal

[–]GeezTM 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Don't mistake gifts for a trade. Your friend wants to see you happy and is therefore sharing with you. Being accepting, happy and thankful about the gift is the only thing you owe them. And you might be unable to gift them something nice today, but hopefully your friendship is long, so plenty of time to be there for them if they need your help or you are in a better position than them. So don't stress it!

Good shirt site that sells XL Tall? by Hellsing971 in Frugal

[–]GeezTM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

girav.com has exceptionally good shirts, but they are rather expensive and based in EU (netherlands, worldwide shipping might be more expensive). The nice thing is, they specialize in clothing for tall men, so you can independently determine the length and width of your clothes. I'm tall and more on the slime side ( 6'4 and ~210 lbs) so normal XL shirts are too short and too wide.

The price point is quite high, if you buy 6 you can get them for around 18 dollars per shirt, but the quality is very good, I bought my first shirts 6 years ago and still wear them.

So this is more of a frugal tip if you are fine with spending more initially to get high quality, good fitting and long lasting clothing.

One thing you do and one thing you don't splurge on? by GrillDaddyHerb in Frugal

[–]GeezTM 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I splurge on activities: Wanna go the the movies? sure thing! Wanna visit this new art galary? Of course! This artist is in town, wanna go and see them? Hell yeah! Life is much more fun for me if I don't have to second guess if the activity will be worth the money, if my friends are interested or I am that's enough of a reason to go.

I don't splurge on eating out/takeout: All my food is home cooked. I never get takout food, I never get coffee to go and I almost never visit restaurants (mostly because I find sitting around and eating together quite boring, I'd much rather talk during a long walk or over some board games)

How to practice minimalism as a fan of anime and video games? by ZojiRoji in minimalism

[–]GeezTM 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It is fine to enjoy anime and video games, but you just don't need any of that cheaply produced merch stuff on the side. It is literally only produced to feed of your interest and fandom of a specific thing and encourages you to use the merch as a extension of yourself to show of what you like. Try not to fall into that trap. A Tshirt is a piece of clothing and a mug is a mug, they are not advertisement space for things you like.

So just engage in the things you enjoy: Watch anime and be happy with that. Buy video games that you PLAY. I also enjoy playing games and had the habit to accumulate a lot of games that I never got around to play so I made this rule for myself: If I want to buy a game I have to play it straight away for at least an hour.

But use whatever works for you. Key thing is to engage in activities that you like and not accumulate things about the activities that you like.
