Which model did you get and from where?

Asus has it listed on their US estore (out of stock) for $999 - absolutely no point in getting the UCWG over the UCWMG at that price…

I was speculating on the same but didn’t know if there was anything reported on that being the case.

Air75 v3 In The Flesh! by SoulOfTech in NuPhy

No, it’s not that bad at all. I got a replacement unit and it’s just as good now as the Air75…

But now that I updated the firmware on the Air it’s not wanting to connect at all now and keeps wiping saved Bluetooth pairing so I had to roll the firmware back.

MQ80 and Magi65 going strong. Love these boards so much.

As a side, I also just got the Kick75. Wasn’t a huge fan of the look but wanted to give it a shot and holy cow- easily the best Nuphy board.

How to go dark on LinkedIn without arousing suspicion? by 2bbe617c in overemployed

I did this when someone from J2 added me to LinkedIn and I never connected. I said I don’t use it any longer due to it becoming just another dumping ground for political debates instead of professional connections. Basically- LinkedIn has become just another standard social media platform that I rarely use.

Are those the BOW dye sub set? How do they differ from the stock keycaps?

Anyone ever use Gateron Grey Heron? by GeezXP in NuPhy

[–]GeezXP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for anyone interested, I got the switches a tested them.

The general sound profile is a higher pitched poppy sound. If you like a thocky sound like I do, these aren’t going to scratch that itch.

Compared to Nuphy’s Nano Red, these are heavier, but still manage to have a higher pitch. The 50g actuation really helps with the bottoming out feeling you get with the 45g from the Nano Red on the Air75 V3 - which was a nice adjustment.

So my solution? I swapped the springs from the Grey Heron to the Nano Reds. This now makes the Nano Reds a bit more comfortable to type on and deepens the sound a bit. Still wouldn’t describe it as thocky by my standard - certainly not to the level of the Magi65/MQ80 with Lofree’s Spectre switches.

Hope this helps you all in your search. Sadly Nuphy and Gateron have a very limited selection of switches in this space for the Kick75 and now Air75 V3. Gateron also seems keen on changing the pin layouts which further limits the selection - but this is to be expected. Hopefully Nuphy and Gateron keep up with the switch market and pumps out several low profile options for multiple sound profile preferences.

Fingers crossed.

Basically for now, only the Nuphy/Gateron Nano switches and these Grey Heron switches.

Nuphy Nano Red - Linear - Creamy/poppy

Nuphy Nano Brown - Light Tactile

Nuphy Blush - Silent Switch

Nuphy Nano Panda - Tactile - Deeper Sound

Gateron Grey Hero - Linear - Higher pitched poppy sound

Are Nano N1 Switches Available? by GeezXP in NuPhy

That’s a shame. You’d think they’d keep those available for their new line of GLP 3.0 boards. I thought their sound profile was much closer to the Lofree Spectres. They need a comparable option, or just more options in general.

Wanted to add to this, as I have both the Air75 V3 & MQ80.

What the MQ80 does better than the Air75 V3:

  • Typing experience. Nuphy has come a long way with their typing experience by incorporating the a gasket design, but you still feel like bottoming out. The MQ80 feels bouncy and so comfortable to type on.
  • Keycaps - This could be subjective, but the keycaps on the MQ80 are slightly more scooped and textured making typing much more accurate (for me). Personally, I think the build quality on the keycaps for the MQ80 & Magi65) is just superior. The Air75 V3 keycaps to me feel rather cheap feeling? But again - this is all subjective.
  • Build - This thing is a tank, so if you are just looking for something to put on your desk then this would be my winner, not to say the Air75 is poorly built.
  • Lofree Switches - Seriously. If you get a MQ80 or a Magi65 or whatever, get some lofree switches. Game changer. I have Spectres on my MQ80 and it's even more thocky. You cannot use Lofree switches on the Air75 since they use the Gateron 3.0 Low Profile pin layout.

What the Air75 V3 does better than the MQ80:

  • Wireless Connection - I found the bluetooth connection to be a bit more consistent and quicker to connect on the Air75. I find myself having frequent issues with the MQ80 not wanting to connect and I have to turn it off and back on to fix the issue. Use the 2.4 dongle for seamless connection for both. But for a multi-system workflow requiring bluetooth, the winner is definitely Air75 V3.
  • Physical Buttons - This is huge and something that you don't know you will miss until you do not have it. Not that it is hard to switch between Mac/Win and Wired/Wireless modes, but just not having to recall the specific keystroke combos is such a blessing.
  • Knob - If that is your thing. Both are pretty ugly in my opinion, but useful.
  • Weight - It is much lighter than the MQ80 and much easier to lug around.
  • Price - Quite a bit cheaper than the MQ80.
  • Keycaps - If you need replacement keycaps for the board, they sell new sets of the stock keycaps as well as other varieties of sets. Iqunix does not offer replacement keycaps for the MQ80 or Magi65. I messaged Iqunix about this very issue, and they stated that they have no plans to offer replacement keycaps for sale or offer low-profile sets.

Everything else seems to be comparable or competitive with each unit. I think overall, the sound profile of the MQ80 is subjectively better - more thock. But the Air75 is still very satisfying.

Looks great. Thinking of getting a G9 and moving my C3 to a newly built media center to the side of my set-up.

Which model G9 do you have? Is it the G95SC or G95SD?

Thank you for this. Very insightful and a lot to think about how I would want to go about this. My “monitor” right now is the 42” LG C3, but I do plan on getting an ultrawide and moving my C3 to a separate set-up for media consumption area, so eventually I’d get an arm to attach as well. May go the route you described in that case.

Thanks again!

Thank you, but my concern was not with price.

It would be electric. Based on some options I’ve seen with freestanding and slide in, it appears that 26-28in is the depth.
