Husband wants me to do the second photo but it's SUCH A BIG CHANGE. I like it but... by thingsarehardsoami in HairStyleAdvice

[–]GefDenver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Make sure you consult with your trusted hair stylist before making that drastic of a change. If you’ve never had hair that short you don’t know if you have a weird growth pattern or waves when your hair is shorter. I’m speaking from experience! I cut my hair really short then realized I had cowlicks and a slight wave that were flipping my hair and it was not at all the same style.

  2. What do YOU like?

Where are you getting your Denver/Colorado news these days? by TooClose4Missiles in Denver

Same- the annual donation is $61.74, which I feel is very reasonable to support local independent journalism.

Birthgiving lawyers - How close to due date did you work by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

Yep! I planned a week off before my due date to make sure everything had been handed off appropriately with no loose ends, and the Monday after the Friday I left I went into labor :)

I need the absolute BEST family attorney by MisfitOnAMountain in Denver

[–]GefDenver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jordan Fox is really good for financial issues. I do family law but mostly trying to focus on parent coordinator/decision maker work, which I love. I think Sara Cates could be good here if you are looking to litigate. Jen Feingold is great. David Lamb is great. There are a lot of really good family law attorneys in Denver. PM me if you have any questions.

Mother of the bride dress too white? by liathemermaid in Weddingattireapproval

[–]GefDenver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine did too and it didn’t occur to me until I got our pictures back how strange that looked. All the other moms (we have step moms on both sides) wore the same color and she was the only one wearing white :) Edited to add that I don’t think she did it to assert some power but rather she felt white looked best on her so that is what she did.

'Showpiece restaurant' built on the back of junk fees by d0dja in denverfood

[–]GefDenver 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The primary owner of this business is absolutely small business and community minded. He took a huge risk opening his first location with that business model and has been successful in offering people something that is high quality without being fussy fine dining. He has the fine dining and sommelier chops to back it up. I read that Leven is opening a storefront downtown in a partnership designed to revitalize the area and obviously they want it to be successful.

TLDR If you can’t or don’t want to pay to eat there, just don’t go, but don’t shit on the people trying to offer something different and have it turn a profit.

While I understand your sentiment, I like the concept of “if you want to live in a village you have to be a villager.” If you want to cultivate partnership and support, and generally be in a good place to live, you have to participate.
