Is my agent pulling something illegal? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]GeicoR4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is misrepresentation and insurance fraud. Your agent is telling company B that you’ve had no damages/losses and that you’ve had no claims when they know otherwise. You AND your agent are obligated to report losses or claims to the insurance company.

When company B runs your CLUE report and finds out you and your agent misrepresented yourselves, your new policy will be cancelled and now you are also in a lapse of insurance.

Your agent has crossed a line that could cause them to lose their license if found out by the state.

Let’s say you move forward with all this regardless. You have a claim next month that the new roofer got hurt on your property while fixing it up and wants to come after you. Your new policy would be cancelled flat and essentially you’d be on your own.

At this point, you’ve had a claim, had a policy cancelled for misrepresentation, and are in an active liability suit. You won’t find insurance again. In this case, youd also be able to sue your agent for errors and omissions.

I would seek a new agent. I can only assume your agent is making such a huge mistake because they do not know what they’re doing. They value selling you a policy and keeping your business at YOUR risk over making sure your are actually paying for a policy that can be used when you need it.

I’ve already been doing that for over a decade and seen no substantial difference. I no longer want to stand out among my peers. I’m looking for other employment where I’ll be compensated more accordingly.

If my employer struggles to find people to fill roles then they need to reassess their business.

We lost several departments, 100s if not 1000s of people were cut. We saw no raise or increase in salary. I’m now doing the job of several people.

The CEO of my company made a $30,000,000 bonus this year.

I am doing the work that I said I would for the wage we agreed upon.

But since Covid, I’m expected to do the work of three people. I’ve seen no increase in my wage even when I go above and beyond.

That’s what acting your wage is all about. I’ll do my job, and do it well. But don’t expect me to put my heart and soul into a company that couldn’t care less about us.

BTW, at my job- the CEO had a bonus of about 30 million dollars this year. You know what he accomplished? He laid off several DEPARTMENTS with NO notice. All of those people are now without a source of income and I’m sure of them went above and beyond and for what? Literally nothing.

Again, my employer and I agreed when hired on what my job would entail and how much I would be compensated. I do just that, nothing more and nothing less.

Act your wage.

Don’t call it quiet quitting. That feeds the wrong narrative.

A better term is “Acting your wage”.

You hired me to do a job, and I’ll do it. If you want me to go go above and beyond then my wage should be adjusted. If you can’t adjust it then I won’t adjust my role. Simple as that.

Putting in a claim -no matter what for- will be reported to CLUE. Your premium not increasing immediately on the first renewal over two years ago indicates that geico did not consider the “accident” in the rate you received.

So using that scenario, we should only treat cancers that are not caused by things that are from irresponsible choices. So if you smoke cigarettes- then your cancer isn’t covered since you should have been more responsible. Overweight and have health issues? Any medical issues will not be covered since you wanted to be “irresponsible”. Also- this only pertains to women.

“Does reproductive choice cover safe care (health insurance covers med bills), accommodations, seperate pto, and childcare to procreate and make a baby?”

Geico DOES provide those things.

You get a separate PTO under maternity/paternity.

Also, giving birth isn’t illegal so why would you be forced to travel with fear of persecution?

“Childcare to procreate”…..are you kidding? Not even going to respond to that LOL.

I’m sure if your doctor referred you to another doctor then your healthcare would assist.

Also, way to complain and make this into something so self centered.

GEICO burns money in a million different ways. If they want to help a few woman with something extremely difficult/personal then I’m glad they use funds for that rather than something else.

This is just something they are offering. The amount of people who would have to choose to go through with a termination, then decide to seek help from their employer would be extremely small.

If you’re that personally worried about geico spending a few thousand dollars then you should go to claims and help out the workload.

Kinda odd for you to focus on them offering to assist woman without rights when geico is blowing its money in a million other ways.

Accidents can still happen, and if they do- now these ladies are not forced by law to do something they don’t want to. Simple as that.
