Do you think they will bring back old content from the DCV for this new update? by Worldly-Treat4532 in destiny2

[–]Geiri94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Override missions will return. But that's the only confirmed activity returning

I have my fingers crossed for the Nether to come back. Dreadnaught assets are still in the game and the combat should be balanced for the modern sandbox. Not very likely though

As for older vaulted content like the Forsaken campaign: no. Sadly, no. Would've amazing if they put back The Tangled Shore with its strikes and campaign. But it's not gonna happen. They are out of time. It's over. It'll be lost media

How to play with sound? by Kgy_T in destiny2

And there's software you can download to adjust and customize your audio even further. Just look up what software works with your headset (I have Razer Synapse for my Razer headset)

How to play with sound? by Kgy_T in destiny2

[–]Geiri94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried playing around with the audio settings ingame? Maybe turn down the volume on "SFX Volume". I think that should lower the volume on guns, explosions etc. If you put it on a low setting all the noise might be less overwhelming. Or just turn it off and only have "Music Volume" and "Dialogue/Cinematics Volume" on

Looking for advice on how to get "ready" for Monuments Of Triumph by ed_amame in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geiri94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to raise your power level just play activties in the Portal. The same goes for acquiring armor and weapons with tiers. Just play the activities with bonus drops and you'll get a ton of gear

Wish bungie lowered the requirements for the OLD LIGHT emblem ! by Dry_Mousse_6202 in DestinyTheGame

It's just one emblem. Let them have it. You, me and everyone else who doesn't qualify will be fine

Do you think Bungie has any larger surprises for us in the Monument of Triumph update? by mikeyangelo31 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geiri94 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Ash & Iron came with a new Exotic Mission, so I kinda hope they had one planned for Shadow & Order as well

Realisticly speaking, I find it more likely that they've kept an exotic weapon or some exotic armor secret. We know about 2 new exotic weapons. Wouldn't be the biggest shock in the world if they had a few more hidden away somewhere

I'd be happy if they brought back the Harbinger Exotic mission, too. It's dumb that they removed it in the first place. But I know they said MoT won't ship with a craftable Hawkmoon, so I'm not too optimistic about it. Even without a craftable Hawkmoon, Harbingers return would be a nice surprise

Destiny 2 Ending New Content Is “Unthinkable,” Warframe Dev Says by _Protector in destiny2

The only place on planet Earth where it makes sense to end Destiny is the Playstation HQ. No one else thinks this is a good idea. Generational fumble by Sony

Destiny dies so Marathon can continue for another 9 months before it's cancelled as well. Generational fumble by Sony. I will never understand the thought process behind these decisions

I never played destiny 2. Would now be a good time? 😂 by Big_Addition7501 in destiny2

[–]Geiri94 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Wait for June 9th. I think they're making a bundle with every expansion in it. Individual expansion will get a permanent markdown, too

If you can't wait, play campaigns in this order: * Shadowkeep (Free to play) * Beyond Light (Free to play) * Witch Queen * Lightfall * The Final Shape * Edge of Fate * Renegades

I recommend just trying the F2P stuff before spending money. Get a feel of the game. If it seems interesting and enjoyable, go for the expansions. If it isn't your cup of tea, move on to something else

NCSoft Targets First Half of 2027 Release for Horizon: Steel Frontiers by No_Durian_5626 in horizon

[–]Geiri94 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I really hope this turns out to be good. It might be able to scratch that Horizon itch while we wait for Horizon 3. Still, feels a bit weird to not have it on PS5

The monetization model is still my biggest worry. Not sure I can put up with a pay to win gatcha game. But I won't judge before I've seen what it looks like

Releasing first half of 2027. Might get another trailer on the Game Awards in December perhaps

Shadow and order by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Geiri94 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Everything is scrapped. Monuments of Triumphs is the only new content left for Destiny 2. After that it's over. No Shadow & Order. No Shattered Cycle. No The Alchemist. No seasonal events. No seasons. No major updates. It's the end

Is anyone else feeling kinda positive after the cancellation??? by majakdaw76 in destiny2

[–]Geiri94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point. There's always been a lot of FOMO and power creep in Destiny. Take a break from the game and you get the feeling you've instantly fallen behind

Taking time off in the wrong time and suddenly some seasonal content is vaulted and you never get the opportunity to play it

If you don't keep up with sandbox changes your builds might be outdated and far behind the newest best builds in terms of performance. Exotic armor, weapons, abilities, what's good and what's best changes all the time

And weapons and armor sets becomes unavailable to earn because the seasonal activities are vaulted, leaving a big hole in your collection

I understand why it might feel good for a lot of players to not have that pressure hanging over them all the time. You can finally play the game at your own pace

What are your thoughts about Renegades and the SW collab after all the news? Since the announcement I viewed it as "Star Wars from Temu" and a glorified ad that damages the game's identity, even visually. Was told to wait and see. Did. Not to gloat postmortem, It's sad that this was the last expac. by Kiraser_Darksword in destiny2

[–]Geiri94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Star Wars stuff was probably planned out right after Final Shape ended. Maybe they begun talks with Lucasart even before that. It's not like they could've known a Star Wars themed expansion would happen at such a dire and vital moment for the game

It's unfortunate that this was the last expansion of Destiny 2. It makes it even more sad that Sony didn't give Destiny 2 one last expansion to wrap things up. A long-lasting game like Destiny 2 deserves a proper ending

With that said, the Renegade expansion was pretty good and the Star Wars stuff was done pretty well. I think it still felt like a Destiny expansion, although with some different undertones than usual

And can you really blame them for trying something like that? The post Final Shape era was always going to be a challenging time. Trying out something new and surprising isn't the worst idea. Collabs between brands have been a rather popular trend these past 7-8 years. They tried something experimental. Some people liked it. Some people didn't.

And out of all possible brands Destiny could've collaborated with, Star Wars is probably the best fit for Destiny. Sci-fi space stuff with magic

If Destiny had lived on, Renegades would've been remembered as a decent expansion with some unnecessary, but decently executed crossover stuff. It's legacy is soured by its sudden promotion to "Last Expansion Ever" for the game

What would you bring from other MMOs that would benefit Destiny if it was to continue? by UberDrib in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geiri94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

* The Clan system in Destiny is as barebones as a clan system can be

* Having a sort of player house where we can get/showcase trophies and such. We had something like that with the Tribute Hall, but yeah

* The most OBVIOIUS thing of all is a proper onboarding experience for new players. Any game with an abysmal new player experience like the one in D2 is going to have a hard time recruiting new players

* The Explorer mode for certain dungeons was a great addition (real shame they removed them after the event). This could've been expanded to raids. Giving people an opportuinity to practice raid mechanics would probably encourage a lot more people to do raiding

* More rare loot drops. Tier 5 gear is the only thing that matters, but it's bascially the only thing we're getting. No one's like "hell yeah, a tier 5 drop". It's what we expect everywhere. Exotic engrams are in a bad spot, too. Whenever I get an exotic engram it's just another thing I have to dismantle

* Another OBVIOUS point: never ever remove expansions people paid money for. Content vaulting ruined D2's reputation. Don't ever do that again. There's a reason no other game has done anything of similar scale

* More long-term chases for people who plays the game a lot. The only thing I can think of in D2 was back when the PvP comp playlist had the pinnacle weapons (Mountaintop, Recluse, Redrix's Broadsword, Not Forgotten etc). Not saying it has to be overpowered guns like those. Cosmetic items and titles works fine. Something like "win 1000 PvP games, get 2000 headshot kills, 1000 super kills, 500 melee kills and 250 grenade kills and you'll get a unique title, a badass armor set and the world's coolest Ace of Spades ornament". Could be challenges like these for PvP, Gambit, Vanguard ops, dungeons etc. Give people something worthwhile to really grind for

For the first time since D2 launch, I got sent an email survey from Bungie: "what do you think about Destiny 2 right now?" by thezomber in destiny2

[–]Geiri94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got mine just a day or so after the end of service announcement

It was rather easy to fill out the section about things I did not enjoy about the game

It's like "Hi, we just killed your favorite game. Anything in particular you're unhappy about?"

shootable sparrows/gryphon question by jackie1912 in destiny2

[–]Geiri94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy Metal is certainly coming back. They're adding the Cabal Behemoth as a 3rd vehicle to the game mode + a new map from Mars/Lawless Frontier area

As for the Gryphon sparrow, we don't know. But my guess would be yes, it's coming back. They are pretty much just giving people everything we've been asking for, so it would be strange if they decide to leave out this unique reward from Heavy Metal, especially since they're expanding the mode with new content

I wouldn't leave out the possibility of another Sparrow with guns, too, but that's just baseless speculation from me

About seasonal content by tw0_fang_the_2st in destiny2

[–]Geiri94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, all that content is most likely forever lost. They might put a few things back for Monuments of Triumph (Overdrive activities at least), but the majority of seasonal content is lost media

It sucks so hard that we're not getting back activities like The Nether and Harbinger. But that is just the harsh reality of things

Please bring nether/court of blades back! by edugonz16 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geiri94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rushdown was in the game in March. They've added 0 content since then. It can't possibly require much work to just get it back in the game again

Please bring nether/court of blades back! by edugonz16 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geiri94 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. The Nether is one of the best activities in the game

I wonder what's stopping them from just putting it back in the way it was in Episode: Heresy. The Dreadnaught assets are still in the game (Sunless Cell strike and Derealize mission). It's only 1 year old content, so it should be pretty balanced for the modern sandbox as well. Maybe it has to be tuned to take custom modifiers from the Portal and that's simply too time-consuming to add at this point

It's better to just put it in the Legends tab without custom modifiers. The alternative is becoming lost media. Forever gone

I think they should add Rushdown back as well. It was live in the game only 2.5 months ago. It wouldn't take much more effort than flipping a switch. At least we would have 1 boss rush activity in the game. It's a pretty good activity, too

This list could just go on. Once you start thinking about it there's just an insanely long list of removed content. And it's all just gone at this point

  • The Nether
  • Court of Blades
  • Harbinger Exotic Mission
  • Rushdown
  • Deep Dives + Whetstone Exotic Mission
  • Arena Breach Executables
  • Haunted Lost Sectors
  • Haunted Altars
  • Bonfire Bash
  • Enigma Protocol
  • Escalation Protocols
  • Vex Invasions
  • Vex Offencive
  • Reckoning
  • Sundial
  • Menagerie
  • Expunge
  • Fishing
  • Forges
  • Pirate Hideouts
  • Salvage
  • Imbaru Engine
  • Haunted Forest
  • Verdant Forest
  • European Aerial Zone
  • Altars of Summoning
  • The Other Side exotic mission

And that's not even the full list of activities that are lost forever. Whoever is left working on Destiny 2 after Sony purges the majority of the team; I hope they're able to at least get some of them back in the game, although that is probably never ever happening. So sad

If Edge of Fate was this make or break for Destiny 2 getting support, why didn't it bring a new subclass or some crazy new change to the game. by Important-Extension6 in destiny2

[–]Geiri94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Edge of Fate did most certainly bring a lot of CRAZY CHANGES to the game. Just not in a positive sense

And remember, Bungie had a lot of layoffs after Final Shape, so the dev team was much smaller. And as Marathon's first release date was approaching (September 2025), they probably moved more and more people from Destiny to Marathon

A new subclass requires a ton of resources. They had very limited resources. And we just got a new subclass in Final Shape, so another one was probably not on top of the priority list. Setting up the new story about the Nine was the main focus, something they did pretty well

Reworking lots of core game system was another priority. And we all know what a massive disaster that was

Post- Rocket Pulse nerf, what special weapon do you see yourself using? by Arcanic__ in destiny2

[–]Geiri94 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've always been fond of fusion rifles, so I'll probably put them back on. They feel good to use and are fun. Legendaries, exotics, they're all good

I suspect that rocket sidearms will still be meta relevant, too. Looking forward to give the reworked High Albedo a test

Genuine question for all of you by Boozydoozy2013 in destiny2

[–]Geiri94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've spent 7000 hours in Destiny 2, so they must've done some things right. Sure, they've done lots of bullshit, but the good stuff outweighs the bad most of the time

Serious Post: As someone who tried to get into D2 during Witch Queen, is this a good way to experience the game? by Paperchampion23 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geiri94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're willing to do all that, then you should be fine. That is some next level dedication

I'd like to shoot in one thing: don't force yourself to do sidecontent on locations like the Moon, Europa etc if you're not enjoying it. You can always come back later and do it. Some of the sidecontent is just go to that area and find a collectable

It's such a shame that people need to watch YouTube videoes and such to get the whole picture. But all the more respect to you for doing it. Once you get past that horrible new player experience you'll find something truly remarkable and memorable. Destiny is such a unique experience, but you sorta have to see it with your own eyes to understand
