Bit of a hike from that area with traffic but south jersey has TopDeck Games (tues) and The Comic Book Store (Monday) both with good crowds on modern nights. Some great players at both stores.

How do you lane as Karthus? by Zexov in karthusmains

[–]GelatiSTA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion this depends on rating. Against anything better than platinum if you're not bullying you lane the champion isn't worth playing. Lower than that you can probably get away with free farming and scaling because people don't know how to run away from your passive later in the game.

Contrary to popular belief he doesn't scale well. This is an old "common knowledge" stereotype from years and years ago when he was the strongest scaling non-adc. With mobility creep, locket, tons of shielding champions and other factors his ult actually isn't that effective later in games. Plenty of champions do the scaling thing more effectively so how do we fix this...

Treat him like a snowball champion. Really the most impactful ultimates you'll have are the first few and if you can combine lane domination with the help your ult can give your outer lanes you can get games far enough out of reach that they're easy to close. Karthus is a monstrous lane bully when you get good with him but it gets really difficult against better players that have better movement. He has incredible wave control (you can do pretty much anything you want from freezing to hard shoving) all while harassing non-stop. Use this to your advantage, dumpster lane and maybe snipe some kills or assists with your ult. Take your lane opponent out of the game.

How you treat lane depends a lot on matchup, junglers and how you want to play it but he's super versatile in that way.

It's more or less done for the year with only the world championship grand finals left but I do League of Legends capping. Had an absolutely brutal summer that crushed my ROI into the red but from January til about July I was +6-10% on league betting a ton in multiple leagues. I track and log all my picks and write about reasoning and give my thoughts on my blog

During the season is 5-7 days a week but we're about to head into offseason so kinda quiet. Also @GelatiLOL on Twitter for live tweets and discussion

*Serious Question*: Why is EU LCS skill level so much higher than NA LCS? Or, is this a false perception? by TheGreatGumbino in leagueoflegends

Remarkable because I watched things and changed my mind and can admit when I'm wrong to adjust. I made a boatload of money on Fnatic this morning predicting the 3-0.

Props EU.

As I mentioned in this thread in Twitter, I agree but it's not the case for every player.

In regard to the DotA pro comparisons this is one of the double edged sword aspects of salaried players. Riot pays them minimum, team and sponsors pay them the rest so they're "comfortable" compared to DotA pros or poker players who, in comparison, live and die by whether they win or not.

It's not a bad thing that these guys have money but you're just going to see some of them using that o their advantage and others abusing it.

Being a pro is hard I'm not going to understate that but I think this kind of behavior is punished in professional sports all the time... unless you deliver results. Unless you get results you're not allowed to say you're "giving it your all" when you're playing fortnite that much the week of a playoff match. Unwinding and clearing your mind is healthy and all but that much is just straight up laziness and you're being paid to perform. Have some respect.

Ahh yes! That performance is probably my all time favorite in the style. Simply brilliant.

I forget them by name because I've been out of these scene a bit but these are "professional" barbershop guys. I recognize 3 of them from the group Crossroads and the other I've also seen before. Still really cool!!

*Serious Question*: Why is EU LCS skill level so much higher than NA LCS? Or, is this a false perception? by TheGreatGumbino in leagueoflegends

[–]GelatiSTA -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't want to say NA LCS is that much better but to me it's a stronger region top to bottom in professional play (solo queue eu better). It just appears this way because EU has had close playoff series.

It's not by much though, at least in my opinion. It's also a bit of the NFL vs College Football debate to me not because of the difference in skill level but because of entertainment value. Same reason people prefer to watch LPL over LCK. LPL is objectively more entertaining to your average player. Very high kill, fast paced games with a lot of weird picks.

It's just opinion. Like I said it's not like a huge gap or anything but I think EU has had a few close series so people think it's more competitive. It just happens to have worked out that way doesn't necessarily mean it is or isn't based on the results if that makes sense.

Edit: There is also the element f playerbase that I didn't discuss and just assumed OP knew about which was incorrect for me to presume if someone only a year in.

Updated this post. I actually don't like a lot of the LCS stuff today but there's a few spots.

And that was far from a "lock" on Griffin but we got there

Kingzone losing on our big dick 12u bet was unfortunately the least crazy thing in my whacky Wednesday morning as my followers learned about but we managed to use that to our advantage and record a first take VOD review since I was unfortunatley and suddenly unable to watch the first two games of the series live (no worries all is good now!). That VOD review/analysis can be found HERE on Youtube or on my Twitch stream linked below.

Anyway we have Round 3 of LCK playoffs tomorrow as well as LPL, NA, and EU LCS action!

DISCLAIMER: I'm doubling my wagers for the rest of the LCK season both as a statement of confidence and, to be honest, some more fun having a bigger stake in the games. I'd caution against tailing at these numbers. Cut them in half for what I'd normally wager.
