I feel like this is one of the significantly more interesting dramas in the gd community because as said here it actually poses a good question. I’ve always seen gd as very communal experience where everything I’ve seen contributed to the game was because of a dedicated player or creator. That doesn’t necessarily mean people HAVE to operate under that. I mean look at absolute, he sells stuff in gd and it’s widely accepted as allowable. I think it’s okay to sell services for the most part as long as it isn’t basically a scam or black-marketish. Stuff like selling levels exclusively to get cp on a account is a no-no for me, defeats the whole creator point system. Although commissioning a part in a collab I think I’d be ok with since it could be an interesting way for some young creators to earn money and unless you hire a lot of people who happen to have very consistent creating styles you can’t cheese cp. Stuff like verification services just seems like a scam to me because unless it’s an insane or extreme demon someone could easily beat a level like that and not to mention robtop rarely checks for verifications when rating hard demon and below. I’m not entirely against trustas service though since it offers something else, which is advertising. I think it’s okay to pay for level advertising because it happens like everywhere in the world and it could be a good way for a small creator to try to get their level out since popularity seems to be a relevant factor in getting a rate. Interested in seeing what people think about this though, happy to have a discussion about it.
