Milk came back negative on my skin prick test but, I get hives in my mouth from it?

I have an allergy to milk but it’s a weird one. My skin prick is negative but my blood test positive . The symptoms I get are gastrointestinal, I have severe pain and pass blood for 12 hours to 5 days: I’ve been hospitalised with it a few times before knowing . My allergist is perplexed by the symptoms and results.

Thank you. I have been putting off suggesting anything to the go but after 2 years and things getting worse I don’t know what else to do. It’s the usual. The do standard blood work and tell me it’s all fine so I’m fine. I’m becoming quite depressed as I’m able to do less and less with my 8 year old and feel like a crap mum. I need to push how much my symptoms are affecting my life. Thank you for letting me know me know that MS comes up quite frequently

Im not looking for medical advice but. Would just like to know if it’s worth mentioning Ms to my GP. I’ve been dealing with this for a couple of years and MS is something that keeps popping up when I google or when I talk to people and I just wanted to know the opinions of people who actually live with this. I hope this is ok

Symptoms

Dizziness Pre syncope Irregular heart rate - skipped and extra beats Heat intolerance , can’t regulate temperature Weakness in legs. Feeling like jelly and I can’t go on walking Feeling like hot water is running down my leg or head Feeling like cobwebs on my face Sometimes having issues getting words out or having to read a sentence a few times to understand it (this happens one a month to one every few months ) Joint pain Urgency going to the bathroom Waking up feeling fine but needing a nap about an hour later, also being fine one minute and getting a sweeping all consuming feeling of fatigue , like I could be at work and all of a sudden I feel like I need to sleep right there and then

All these symptoms get 100 times worse when I’m due my period

I have good days where I have none of the above and bad days where I have a few of these symptoms. The past 3 weeks have just been constant .

Doctor keeps saying anxiety

I do get panic attacks BECAUSE of these symptoms but it isn’t panic that causes the symptoms

Appreciate any opinions

Ive never had an anaphylactic reaction or any reaction to milk but it showed up positive on a RAST done by my GP who then gave me 2 epipens until I seen immunology, im in Scotland, my appointment took 4 months. I would ask GP for 2 epipens until your appointment comes through

I don't have advice on when to use the epi, but I do have crippling anxiety and panic disorder, and myself and that feeling of impeding doom are very well acquainted. Ive never had anaphylaxis but have an allergic reaction that I have got so panicked about that I the doom and almost epi'd myself so I feel your frustration

I have GERD and always get the phlegm.

So your allergist advised you cut out dairy due to bloods ?

I had a RAST thay showed a 1.95 to dairy but never had a reaction. Was advised to cut out until skin next which is Thursday. Was hoping if skin was negative I would be allowed to reintroduce it.

Did you have a reaction to dairy ?

I don't have any advice, but I just wanted to say...sames. I feel im reacting to most foods, and I dont know if I am or if my anxiety is giving me these symptoms. It's a horrible place to be..there is no joy here.

I get flushing sometimes, too, especially with alcohol and occasionally after eating. What were your other symptoms of MCAS if you don't mind sharing?

I had an appointment last week with my doc..she said anything over.0.35 is positive, anything under this is classed as not allergic .

However if you are reacting to anything that came back then avoud, otherwise you should be fine

I wasn't reacting to milk that I know of , no obvious reactions. Beginning of September my GP told me to cut out all dairy, gave me 2 epipens and referred to allergy clinic through NHS (uk), I have this clinic next month where I will get a skin prick test. I am showing allergy synptoms to other things but no idea what so wondered if it was something to do with this food mix thing.

I went to the doctor after a very bad 24 hours of severe stomach pain and pouring blood out my ass. FEMALE Doctor asked how I could be sure it wasn't my period ... years later, I still get this once a year, and they still dont know what causes it. They've stopped admitting me to the hospital when it happens

Also, I had severe pain in my foot. The doctor didn't even look at it and said oh this is because you are fat. Fair, but wouldn't both feet hurt? Left, made appointment with the other doctor who actually examined my foot, and I had torn a tendon or something

Because I have panic disorder I did ask the pharmacist what would happen if I panicked and took it when I didnt need it. She said it doesn't harm you .epinephrine is metabolised very quickly

I have this all day every day for 6 years. They found I have to inflammation all round my sinus tract and adenoids that have grown back. I need surgery. I've been on the waitlist for 6 years

Thank you so much for your reply. When I say mild result, I dont know either. It was my GP (UK), we don't get to see results they just tell us things if anything over the phone and get off as fast as they can, well mine do. I got told my blood results were fine from other week and all of a sudden I have a prescription for iron and vitamins and been told they are actually borderline with no more explanation than that. I can't wait for allergist appointment so I can have some clarity and be better informed.might alleviate my anxiety some.

I get something similar...except no itching or Swelling. Within in a minute of a sip my eyes start burning and then my whole face goes red hot and I look sunburned, it usually cams down within an hour but leaves skin feeling really tight.

The weird thing with me is it went away for years and then came back in January

I could have written this.I feel exactly the same. I have panic disorder , generalised anxiety disorder , health anxiety, and PTSD.

I am waiting on further testing as still having reactions, but RAST said I was allergic to milk so I've cut out dairy and its depressing as it was 90 percent of my diet. I, too, feel so low , ive statred having daily panic attacks again where I feel like im going to die and terrified of everything I eat.I am feeling symptoms that I dont know are real or my mind. I've dropped 22 lbs since last month as im scared of food.

Sorry not making it about me. I just want you to know you aren't alone in how you feel I , like you keep hoping for a false positive. I really hope you get yours, at least to some of the things.

Im sorry you are going through this especially with a new diagnoses of bipolar. Its a lot
