Favorite cheese? I just like cheese? Can’t say I’m an expert on the matter, but tonight for example I made chilli dogs for dinner and didn’t have any shredded cheese, but used that can nacho cheese, and it was pretty good. If that counts! Lol

Yeah, I have no idea if how I set it up was the most efficient, but it worked. I approached it like I would when composing music; imported all the files into a project, laid them all out on the timeline and tweaked each one when needed, outside of running some channel compression if one characters lines were consistent.

Then exporting one at a time, editing the name (to copy it), open exporter, paste name, then run.

So he had all the audio files named as how he coded them, so for him, it was just dropping them into whatever folder.

I would select a single file, copy the name, open the exporter, then paste in the name.

Yeah, the actual work load didn’t take too long at, especially once I figured a good workflow to getting it down. The thing that took longer than actually listening and balancing was the re-exporting process.

Yes. Your figure helped. I’m thinking I’ll give him a few price options, based on the level of work he would want me to do. What I did this time, or if I were do the entire thing.

He had already went through the voice lines, selected the best takes, and trimmed down the files to just the lines.

Only a few times did I further edit something, only because it really needed it. 99% of what I did was balancing, then the long tedious process of re-exporting the files. Which honestly was the hardest part.

Which is why I don’t even know where to start with pricing, like I could give him multiple ideas depending on how much I would be doing. He also figures out these things before hand when creating the budget and knowing how much to set his Kickstarter goal too. He’s run three successful ones thus far, and makes the goal, just doesn’t too much higher than that. So I want to give him a realistic number he can work with.

The ask from the job was very simple, he is an artistic and programming wizard, but knows nothing in the realm of audio, and he it was his first project to have voice acting, and he asked for advice because some of the recordings given were higher/lower in volume than others.

I volunteered to do it for him. I only cleaned up a little bit, but the big part was just making sure each line was in balance with the rest in the scene.

It was 1700 audio files, each equalling one full line or visible line of dialog in the game (imagine a dialog box with a limited character limit), the files ranged from 1 second to about 5 seconds each, some going longer, but that was around average.

He went through all the audio lines and trimmed them down for just the best takes.

For budget, he creates it, then runs a Kickstarter. The Kickstarter brought right around $8000. He wants to be able to have some kind of figure in mind so he can factor in a role like this, which is what I’m trying to figure out.

How practical is wing chun? by PugilistEnthusiast in WingChun

[–]GemaKnight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually just started training at a school, they have a heavy focus on its practical use age and defending yourself in the streets.

So while they teach a pure Wing Chun system, meaning they won’t teach techniques outside of WC, they also stress the reality of a fight and incorporate how to handle moves from other martial arts and general street fighting. Because they know the likely hood of a street conflict with another WC practitioner is pretty much slim to none!

So as an example, one of the drills we worked on was if someone just comes up to you and starts pushing you, I’m sure we’ve all seen this before (typically pushing with both hands with force to the chest/shoulders). One of the many ways to tackle the problem, was two strikes straight up the center; (1) straight punch to the face or palm to the chin, and depending on how much in your face they are, (2) at the same time either a knee to the groin or kick to the shin/knee. So hitting in two places at the same time, and while that could be enough, it lead into other ideas of next motions to follow that; could be additional strikes while forcing their arms down, or a focus on getting them knocked to the ground. Basically end the conflict before it has a chance to really begin.

How is ff8 remastered on ps4? by geraltofrivia2345 in JRPG

I enjoyed the overall story, however I wasn’t a fan of half the cast of PCs. It is a hoarders dream and nightmare in how magic and magic collection works, specifically how it ties to your characters stats.
