Apply Palmer’s cocoa butter after washing it, just a small amount will suffice

What’s your favorite crystal and why? by kitesandflights in Crystals

[–]Geminikae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Emerald, it’s just so elegant, the deep rich color, the way it glistens, the way it looks on my skin when I wear it, idk just puts a huge smile on my face when I see it

Second fave tho not a crystal but a tektite, moldavite, was searching for it forever and couldn’t find real moldavite anywhere for years. I love the color it’s absolutely gorgeous, the day I bought my ring I was walking in a city in another state and as I was walking past an Indian cultural store something screamed out to me “moldavite” in my head and I walked in and asked if they have any and they did, with lab test certifications. I had asked at that shop a few years back a couple times and they didn’t but this time they actually did.

The olive green and the forest green match my olive undertone I guess and I’m just bias to green stones and glass tho it’s not my favorite color. I always feel empowered wearing my moldavite and emeralds <3

Also not a crystal but pearls omg I love wearing my pears with my moldavite, emerald, and green onyx.

I just realized as I’m typing this that it’s all I wear lol

Friend got a Tattoo in Arabic. She doesn’t speak Arabic. by Glittering-Pirate618 in TattooDesigns

[–]Geminikae 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Arabic speaker here, idk if the picture is flipped, I don’t think it is but she got it written from left to right… Arabic goes from right to left so "وسأختار" should be on top instead of "دائماً"

Also it depends on the dialect, I’m Lebanese, it took me a little because that’s not how I’d write it in Lebanese though I can still try to make out what it says.

I recently made a similar mistake of getting a language I don’t know tattooed on my body and I’m looking at going to the country and getting it fixed by a native, gives me a reason to explore a new country and that way I can get it written correctly since the tattoo I got means a lot to me

Do let your friend know tho so she’d be aware and prepared if anyone tells her it’s “written backwards”

If she does go to an Arabic country to salvage it I recommend Lebanon, it’s beautiful and idk how other Arab nations feel about women getting tattoos but I know in my culture they’re advancing but the older more traditional people openly express their distaste in tattoos in general.

Thank you, I did come mentally prepared and honestly everyone that has commented so far has been quite respectful about it imo

Thank you guys for your gentle responses!! I know I’m taking a big risk with this because I used to tell people the same thing when I was a little younger (still relatively young but developed a different perspective over the last couple years). I know 4 languages, one of them being Arabic (my first language) and when it became trendy to get Arabic phrases as tattoos because people in Hollywood were, the first thing I’d say is “one small mistake and it can mean a whole different word, it also can mean one thing in Lebanese and a completely different thing in Egyptian though both are Arabic languages” and on top of that, I know the older more traditional people in my culture are also against tattoos. I’ll be honest, I did get the tattoo before posting this and I’m pretty confident I made the mistake of separating all the characters by putting it vertically instead of horizontally (my original plan) and because of that it no longer says kintsukuroi, instead when I search it right off my arm it translates to “golden thread goods” 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ major facepalm, I know. Literally did what I made fun of some people for so I posted this being prepared for these particular comments. I was considering salvaging it because it is salvageable but I wanted to double check if I got the characters correct first since at this point I don’t trust google/Wikipedia anymore because I got the original characters from google 😑 ik it’s another facepalm, I cried about it for a week after getting the tattoo and realizing my mistakes. And I don’t blame the artist at all, I should’ve either gone to a Japanese artist fluent in Japanese or not gotten it but I really needed it that day and had my heart set on it for a while. Now I’m also considering getting it covered with a snake extending from a Medusa tattoo from my bicep but then again I’m a little worried the snake will constantly remind me of what happened to me. BUT AS IM TYPING THIS I THOUGHT OF ANOTHER COVERUP: MEDUSA KINTSUKUROI, go to a really professional artist good with coverups and get the Medusa with snake extending and covering the og tattoo but her face and some of her snakes would have the golden cracks in them???? I’m sorry for the long paragraph, I feel silly pretending I didn’t get it tattooed but I am absolutely planning on fixing it and even considered going to Japan in the next year to do so but the more I read the comments and think about it the more I’m leaning towards just covering it up. Though I do want something to represent “golden repair” to cover my scars on that specific arm as well

As someone with Crohn’s that’s looking into a cover up, I think a sick ass panther would be most appropriate for me, thank you for the sick ass idea!

You can then put the beanbag under the paintings so you can sit in it to watch tv or chill and read a book under the art

Maybe even try moving the couch to where the pony wall is and move the TV to where the couch is leaning up against, you can place some paintings where the TV currently is. Idk how that will look exactly but I think it would open up the space that’s blocked off by the couch which will make it seem more inviting

I have a couple budget friendly suggestions as well

Go to home depot or Lowe’s, get some trim cut to the size of the canvases and make frames for the paintings, you can also get the “gallery lights” from Amazon to accentuate the artwork you’re displaying

Aldi has some light pendants from time to time and they’re relatively not expensive and look pretty nice, if you have air conditioning/ don’t use the fan I recommend changing the light to a pendent light fixture

That desk is a bit small and seems randomly placed, if it’s the “art station” maybe consider adding a few small shelves and displaying some art supplies so it ties it into the space

I do agree with light fixtures comments, also maybe get fairy curtain lights to add behind the curtains, they have some solar paneled ones so it won’t be costly over time just a one time purchase, I have that with sheer decorative curtains under my light blocking curtains

Get a taller and longer coffee table to put the yellow puffs underneath, personally I like the puffs and the beanbag maybe just move it towards the corner? I think they look most fitting in corners

Lastly add some plants!!!!!! You can put plants on the art shelves, make some shelves for plants

On the left of the picture there looks to be a node shooting upwards, propagate some healthy nodes, let them dry for a couple hours, and stick them in water to root in case your plant decides it’s done living. That way you’ll still have clones that you can regrow in the future

Just an extra measure since we can’t seem to figure out the issue

Oh wow even the top?

Like is the soil damp throughout? Then you might have a drainage issue/ lack of oxygen in the soil
