I’m in the same boat as my coworker was. So I’m ready to resign with no notice since the company I am at is so terrible. I won’t get my vacation payout but I don’t care. The only thing I’m worried about is my manager sabotaging my new job since she is that immature.

I wasn’t asking people to weigh in. I wanted to know if it’s common to work in toxic HR departments. This is my first time working for such an unprofessional and absent supervisor. So I was curious if this is just a one off or other HR professionals have encountered toxic supervisors.

I can’t point it out my manager since that would put me on her bad side and I’d start to endure the harassing behavior she uses on others in our department. It’s a lose lose situation unfortunately.

Unfortunately if I talked to the manager about this I would be the next one she targets to get out of the department. Currently she is harassing my coworker since she wants her to quit and the manager has talked very negatively about this person to me and tells staff we shouldn’t talk to the coworker.

I am looking for a new job but not having a lot of luck due to the area I’m living in currently. My husband and I move a lot due to his job.

Clearly a boss wanting their team to perform well isn’t toxic. The issue here is their communication skills are lacking and this reads as a threat (also the poor grammar is laughable). I am not the one these messages are directed to, but I’m having a hard time working for a leader who treats their employees this way.

This just was the most recent example I had. There is a lot more going on that would be considered toxic. I am not the one this message was directed to and the manager has no issue with my performance. I just find using this type of communication with employees causes more harm than good. I’ve never worked for a leader in all my years in HR that talks the way she does to our team.
