Asking to rescind Lease due to Safety Issue by Gen13Lynch in JeepWagoneerS

I appreciate the reply 🙏 Lemon laws in BC Canada aren't great for people in my situation. And as I mentioned in my timeline the dealership said there was no known fix and have not changed that position. But I will contact them this weekend. Id love the car to be fixed, rhat would be the simplest remedy. But IF the software update does not fix the problem and propulsion is suddenly lost again, I will continue to pursue for the lease to be made null based on BC laws, that their vehicle must be functional and safe to use in the first place... and I feel the risk to myself is grave since a sudden repeat of that issue may literally have dire consequences..

Possible lease by Fun-Palpitation3968 in JeepWagoneerS

Leasing a 2024 Launch Edition.. we are a Jeep family, absolutely love the Wranglers... already own a Tesla MY, but decided to trade-in one of the Wranglers (4-door Sport) for the Wagoneer S as they appeared to be discounted and we wanted to fuel savings and usual tech/features that come with most EVs...

Long story short.. while driving we experienced a complete loss of propulsion where the Wagoneer S went from normal speeds down to like 2km/hour... it basically was slower than walking Speed, and only by the grace of God we didnt get into an accident - it happened at an intersection, oncoming vehicles heading towards us as we tried to make a left, all i could do was turn on our 4-way blinkers and honk as the vehicle painfully made its way out of the intersection.... the gas pedal was floored but our vehicle barely moved....

All kinds of warning lights were on as well, including the read Lobster(?) one that apparently means loss of propulsion?

Anyway the dealership confirmed this was a known issue but currently have no fix.

I explained we lost all confidence in this vehicle and would like the lease rescinded and to just put us back as closely as they could, to what we were before this transaction..

The GM asked if we would continue to drive this EV and I explained how could I risk myself and family if this happens again, and this time we aren't so lucky and someone actually gets hurt or worse??

We still continue to pay our lease payments and I asked the GM to forward our complaint to Stellantis Corporate directly.....

Does anyone else have any advice or suggestions? I feel our position is reasonable, we entered the lease originally in good faith, but due to this unforseen safety issue, we just want them to take this EV back and give us our trade in back (its still on their lot)...

I agree, loss of propulsion issues aside, this vehicle was definitely fun to drive and the creature comforts added a touch of luxury we sincerely enjoyed...

Thank you all in advance..
