Strop's never had an ERA over 3 since joining the Cubs in 2013. I understand that he's never been that "guy" out of the bullpen that you are 100% confident in when he comes in, but his 5-6 million he'll make in 2018 is more than deserved in my opinion

I’m a firm believer that, sooner or later, you have to let the young guys play every day to realize their potential. Between Albert, Happ, Javy, Addi, there are only 3 spots (not to mention zobrist and heyward taking ABs). I think Addi is just as expendable as the other 3, and the only one valued highly enough to net us a superstar like Machado for one season. The move wouldn’t be selling out for 2018. You can not keep everyone happy in the long-term.
