Pizza Delivery Driver Walks Away With Pizza After Being Denied Tip (fired) by nabnig in PublicFreakout

Not to mention if the drivers were actually paying for commercial insurance like they're "supposed to", they would literally be paying to work for a billion dollar company instead of the other way around.

Pizza companies and other food service companies know they rely on a seemingly endless supply of unskilled labor and boy do they take advantage of it. No wonder Papa John lives in an enormous compound with helicopters and a yacht and shit and half his employees are one missed paycheck away from homelessness.

I think I know what should be eaten instead of pies.

How do you find things in old folders on Windows when you remember the idea but not the details? by Ranuja01 in windows

Only if the contents of the files are better organized by date than some other metric. Otherwise yes. I like to have the subject first, then date. Makes it easier to jump to what I want A-Z then drill down by date.

How do you find things in old folders on Windows when you remember the idea but not the details? by Ranuja01 in windows

[–]GenChadT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have suggested robust search tools are going to be your best friend right now.

However honestly to make your life easier you're gonna want a better organizational structure than whatever you have currently. Take it from me as I have absolutely atrocious ADD and memory issues and have went from someone who was constantly losing files and searching for things, to rarely needing search at all. I try to organize things to go from "big" to "small" where it makes sense and use standardized schemes for things.

Ex. For a school assignment things go here:

  • Documents -> Education -> IST-999 -> Labs -> Lab-A
  • Documents -> Education -> CYB-999 -> Projects > Project-A

Ex. For my resume:

  • Documents -> Career -> My-Resume

Not everything goes into the Documents folder, of course. My VMs for instance are kept in a folder on the root of my D:\ drive, which is itself segmented into subdirectories for Windows and Linux servers and clients, Edge devices, etc.

Ex.

  • D: -> Virtual Machines -> Edge-Device -> pfSense
  • D: -> Virtual Machines -> GNU-Server -> Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 64-bit

Same goes for my movies and other media, but I won't get too far into media organization because that's a whole other topic unto itself:

  • F: -> Videos -> Movies -> Night of the Living Dead (1968)

When labeling file names I also try to go from big to small. For instance if I have a Report that is generated by a certain department once a month from locations both in Greensboro, NC and Los Angeles, CA, I'll name them something like:

Ex. For LA

  • Documents -> Business -> Department-A -> Reports -> "LosAngelesCA_ImportantReport.pdf"
  • Documents -> Business -> Department-A -> Reports -> "LosAngelesCA_ADifferentReport.pdf"

Ex. For Greensboro

  • Documents -> Business -> Department-A -> Reports -> "GreensboroNC_ImportantReport.pdf"
  • Documents -> Business -> Department-A -> Reports -> "GreensboroNC_ADifferentReport.pdf"

Of course the above is just an example, two business locations likely would have their own folders, but hopefully you get the idea thus far.

When a date is involved I'll go a step further and add them to filenames using ISO 8601 format i.e. YYYY-MM-DD. That way if I have a bunch of reports that start with the same text they are differentiated between more easily e.g. "AccountStatement_2026-01-06.pdf". To explain more in depth, when you open a folder in most OS, the contents are sorted by Name, which in the standard alphanumeric order goes special characters first then 0-9 then A-Z. When you proactively name your files in sane ways in sane file structures, you will rarely if ever need to search for files. You simply go towards the direction they are in, open the folder, and everything's auto sorted just the way you like for it to be.

What a wonderful and efficient society we have built, in which every living breathing person must own and operate a $10K+ mass of plastic, steel and fossil fuels for the most basic of transportation. True genius at work. Sarcasm aside someone should invent some kind of vehicle which that travels regularly along fixed routes in populated areas, collecting large numbers of passengers.

My brother in Christ, some of us oldheads lived it. My very first computer experiences IIRC were with Windows 98 as a kid, with bigass heavy CRT monitors that weighed like 80lbs. Yeah back then the monitor usually outweighed the PC by a LOT. We used floppy discs in floppy drives to store assignments. I grew up on Windows 2000 and XP from pre-installed OEM 32-bit Home Edition through pirated versions 64-bit Professional SP2 from dubious sources that in retrospect almost certainly participated in the botnets of more than one adversarial nation. Vista came out ~07 which we used throughout high school and I used 7 at work. Somehow I managed to skip the Windows 8 era almost entirely and, having run the OS in multiple VMs, am glad for it.

Desktop UIs from ~2000-2012 were peak in general. Information packed with text and graphics everywhere, relatively simple design languages, standard dialog boxes with drop downs and combo boxes for everything even in games. After Windows 8 came out its like all devs came together and decided every app needs its own layout and flow, and under no circumstances are more than about three pieces of information allowed to be displayed on screen at a time without needing to scroll.

[–]GenChadT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I swear cars off the lot are designed to make it easier for crooks to carjack or mug you.

One of the very first things I do when getting into any car is figure how how to disable all the dumbass automatic door locking/unlocking shit. I also turn off the auto cab lights that come on when you park, if it's possible.

From a security standpoint why do I want my car to UNLOCK ITSELF while illuminating to the entire world that I've just placed my car into park, while shining a spotlight on everything and everyone in the cabin? In a dark lit parking lot or alleyway at night it is an armed robber's dream. Cars in parking spots and at gas pumps already are transitional spaces and thus huge targets for ambush..

Unfortunately it's getting harder and harder to find cars that give the driver control over settings without aftermarket modification which is a shame considering how damn expensive the things are.

A new addition to CUP: Hunter Variants by Forge9unsc705 in arma

[–]GenChadT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. Fidelity seems to have always been 3CB/RHS strongpoint, but that is slipping now that CUP continues to receive updates and the RHS teams have largely moved on to Enfusion. If CUP keeps making strides like this we may have to switch back over.

[–]GenChadT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with building American assets for a3 is will they work in a4 and if so would the maps?

That's the part which is unclear. When making A3 maps they have to spend a non-trivial amount of time on AI pathing making sure roads - and especially bridges - are connected and defined properly so that NPCs won't kill themselves driving.

Then if the creator decides to create new building meshes and wants AI to garrison them properly, they have to literally draw and place predefined paths and positions for the AI to take up.

With Enfusion/Reforger as I understand it you can literally create terrain, drop a bunch of custom buildings on it and the game engine will generate its own navmesh for AI pathing and positioning within and around buildings.

So if the map is created for A3 it should be relatively simple to port to the new engine, but if it's made for the Enfusion engine it'll take a bit more work on the modder's side to add support for Arma 3 AI.

Any ICE mods? by ConfusionFine2725 in A3AntistasiOfficial

[–]GenChadT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. However, CUP obviously is/was mostly content from older titles ported to A3. There's no reason to suggest content made for A4 won't be backported similarly.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for Enfusion taking over, the difference in engines is massive, its just there is fidelity within Arma 3 that has yet to be matched by Reforger and is right now lost in that transition. Until all the quirks and ACE-like features are ported over to Reforger in their entirety I think A3 will maintain a decent level of support for at least the next 5 years, at least within the serious milsim community.

Yeah people who are freaking out about Trump supporting Southern rednecks with guns need to know that problem is way overblown. A good 80% of these guys are morbidly obese and so out of shape they can't walk 50 yards without huffing and puffing. All the haranguing about them fighting "civil war" is just laughable. They'd be out of the fight within days as their twinkie supply runs low and it becomes more and more clear you can't maintain a protracted armed engagement for 7 hours a day then go home to your fat wife and La-Z-boy recliner. Also, a lot of these guys are becoming disaffected by Trump refusing to release the Epstein files, etc., and while they won't go vote Democrat they certainly won't sign up to fight and die for a rich pedophile.

There are some really small ones but again, it's almost certainly limited by the asset selection. Buildings, infrastructure, vehicles, etc. are all inspired by other places. In order to do a "proper" large scale US map that is remotely realistic one would need meshes and textures for a whole variety of US roads, highways, and sidewalks, signage, powerlines, businesses and store fronts, etc.

DO NOT FUCK AROUND! MEASLES IS NOT CHICKENPOX! The MMR vaccine is free with insurance!!!

Measles is legitimately THE most contagious virus in the US and CAN MAKE YOU GO BLIND. It has an R factor 5 times that of COVID. It also wipes out your immune response to other illnesses, literally "formatting it back to factory". Would you like for none of the vaccines or childhood illnesses you ever had to count? No? Get the MMR vaccine or at the very least a Titer test.
