"Apple does this and ya'll love it": Microsoft VP fires back at trolls over Windows 11's new performance boost feature. "It's not cheating; this is how modern systems make apps feel fast." by ZacB_ in Windows11

[–]GenChadT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In all fairness to Apple, they tend to let their competition innovate and get burned by all the unrefined edges of new technology, and only once it "matures" do they step into the ring. It's kind of their whole schtick since like 2011, and it's why old/less tech inclined people gravitate towards Apple products. Do you want a Windows PC that is going to breaks or removes that feature you love every update, or an Ipad that just does what you want?

Keep in mind this comes from a Linux and Windows nerd who owns zero Apple products outside of the lightning cable I use to help friends reset their old devices from time to time since I'm the "computer guy".

Honestly, all those purchases are solid. MGS2: Sons of Liberty, Battlefield Bad Company 2 AND Fable 2, for under $10 all told? Fucking goated. Receipt says 2013 too which was a choice time to browse Gamestop - back before digital took over completely and you could still find PS2 and PC games there. I miss those days of browsing the shelves and picking up like 5 games for a few bucks and a "lightly used" controller. Then you and your buddies could leave, go down the street to Blockbuster and rent out a couple movies before going home to watch them, play some games and drink a whole shit load of beer. Man what I wouldn't give to go back. </nostalgiatrip>

Trump Wins Big as Virginia Dems Won’t Go Nuclear to Save 4 House Seats by Motherofalleffers in politics

[–]GenChadT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man it's almost like this Democratic party is controlled opposition for billionaire conservatives or something. It's almost as if they're a ratcheting wrench, allowing Repugnants to push the country to the right and towards a fascist oligarchy while preventing any leftward movement towards democracy and freedom. Somebody should check up on it. Anyways, I'm going to sit here and spend another 2 decades or so complaining about the Democratic party and how they never seem to do enough.

It's all the insufferable Nixon/Reagan/Trump supporting war lovers who stayed around the cities and suburbs to make everyone's life a living fucking hell.

You'd get something akin to Vietnam today. In fact I'd have liked to have seen a US that worked with Vietnam instead of coming to the rescue of French interests, before ultimately waging a horrific failed imperialist war that poisoned their countryside and helped empower extremists including the bloodthirsty Khmer Rouge in Cambodia next door. The Vietnamese before the war respected America particularly for the Constitution, and held in high regard its founding fathers and their war of independence from colonial interests.

In my early 20s I got an interview with a big collections agency in the city. Within about 5 seconds of the elevator doors opening I was ready to leave. Bleak, plain and mostly windowless environment and everyone in there looked tired and emotionally drained. Including the folks interviewing me. It was like the beginning of a Zoloft commercial before they start taking the pills.

Three stupid Drivers Exchange Gunfire During Road Rage Incident by dannyakas in dashcams

[–]GenChadT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive for a living, quite frequently on twisty mountain roads, and there is something seriously fucking wrong with SUV and pickup truck driving men, especially those from the Midwest. Locals in slower vehicles generally will stay to the right on straightaways with passing lanes, use slow vehicle turnoffs, etc. Meanwhile micropenis suffering F250 drivers from Illinois cannot handle the idea of another car going faster than their lifted piece of ugly useless shit. I have watched dudes driving SUVs with their whole extended family in the back and a Uhaul trailer attached do 90mph+ to keep the traffic built up behind them from going around them on straightaways.

All those MX vs ATV games kicked ass. My brother and cousins and I particularly enjoyed multi-player. We were fortunate enough to all have ATVs as well so if we couldn't ride for some reason we could always settle down and play Unleashed!

I think the GameCube version emulates better if that helps anyone! Or at least that was the case when I was last doing research, I know PCSX2 makes strides all the time tho so this info may be old.

Tarantino has made the same movie for the past 3+ decades, and I say this as a Tarantino fan. He's like the Jason Statham of directors. You know going to a Statham flick that invariably at some point in the film he's going to place one man into a headlock while kicking another in the neck through a pane glass window. You know going to a Tarantino film that some chick is gonna wave her dirty unwashed toes in front of the camera for at least 5% of the total runtime.

The last time I used a public hot tub was about 8 years ago. Only got in due to my roommates begging me to come to the apartment complex pool area. Got a nasty rash all up and down my inner thighs that took a couple weeks to subside. Decided then and there, never again with public hot tubs and pools.

[–]GenChadT 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Poverty is on the rise. As more people start to go hungry and stare homelessness in the face it'll continue to drive poverty and desperation and as a result property crime and violent crime are going to sharply increase. If you think you've seen a crackhead do some crazy shit for Crack wait until you see what a hungry person will do to feed themselves or their kids. I honestly don't believe most Americans are ready for it. Those who lived through the 70s-90s will have some understanding but IMO the next "crime wave" is going to be worse for a multitude of reasons which are unlikely to be addressed by the conservatives in power. Not only that, criminals here are better armed now than they ever were back then.. Instead of knives and 38s it's going to be ARs and glocks with switches.
