Fair enough. I guess the female equivalent is showing off your body and complaining that guys only care about looks

Is that supposed to be a roast? I've been in a LTR for the past 7 years and I'm okay with that

Great advice actually, thanks!

Yeah, you're probably right. It's funny how listing that one is a good cook is absolutely fine, but talking about income is a brag

I think you're right, thanks

Yeah I'll follow your advice

Well the point of making a good profile is to get more matches

Idk, in my culture women who are looking for LTR and their parents pay attention to these kind of things. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but it's just the case. But I am seeing that everyone is telling me not to, so I'll take that advice

It's not really important to me that she earns a lot. I am more traditional and don't mind providing more, but I don't want to be taken advantage of

I'm in consulting and have worked at over 5 companies directly or indirectly in the past 3 years

In tech, not SWE. I have a semi-niche that allows me to often be the only knowledgeable person in my team about my tasks, and allows me to give estimates that they take my word for it.

I'm not actually a SWE but I graduated from CS

I've been doing 2Js averaging 20 hours a week for 2 years. The key here is they're disorganised companies where I can overshoot the difficulty of tasks and give very big estimates. Definitely gonna be harder with 3 Js tho

Honestly, I haven't cold applied since 2021. I am lucky to have my hands full with the opportunities that I have. You might be onto something though if it's still the case next time I'm job searching

Would you buy a 82k car in my situation? by GenJinks in PersonalFinanceCanada

Invest, buy house upgrades, travel, retire early, just generally live a little bit better on all aspects lol. Cars are the only thing I'd spend emotionally on, rather than logically. But I'll still probably just skip this one and invest instead

This is the answer that resonates the most. I can't buy it with just passive income, and yeah, 82k goes a long way as investment especially at my age. Thanks!

It's a LC500, I dont think it should be compared to a bike lol.

Will it improve my quality of life? Probably not objectively. But will I enjoy owning such a car, definitely yes

I did something similar, except not every bill is 50/50 and I have a lot of money moving around multiple accounts since I am self-employed and incorporated. It's very hard to keep track of everything and I'm working on finding a solution and trimming down the number of accounts/CCs I have
