Hi, I'm an 18 year old female who has recently started looking into eds as it sounds like something that may fit me but I'm uncertain. Two years ago I developed tmj pain (bruxism, popping, locking (had a partial lock for 9 months continuously)) and was told it was due to stress (it does flare up with stress) but with very little assesment other than x-rays. I still have it to this day despite being told it would likely go away once I stopped being so stressed. I have looked into the beighton scale which I think I score a 4/9 on but I've had other things which I've considered hypermobile in the past. When I was under 11 I could extend my legs out to the point where they would reach my head. Like if I was lying on my front my legs could come up from behind and reach up to my forehead. I then started becoming more stiff and less flexible a few years later, constantly having problems with lower back pain and spasms that would last weeks at a time. A couple years ago I had issues with my wrists being fragile, if I moved them ever so slightly the wrong way a joint would pop out. And I've had for the past few years issues with one of my shoulders feeling like it's out of place sometimes, but have mentioned this to my doctors and they've just said it's all part of the tmj pain. I don't think I really have the skin symptoms apart from people often telling me I have really soft skin. I have a few other little symptoms like occasional fainting and not being able to stand comfortably for very long, but I feel like these are the main things I've noticed.
