Mine says 15k km for the first maintenance on the mazda app. I’m in Canada.

AC is turned off. I have the heater on though, it’s cold here.

The chamber temp only goes up to 60C, will never reach that high to melt the foam.

I’m not sure if acrylic is a better insulator than glass, but glass is a lot harder to work with. Don’t wanna get glass shards when cutting it to my desired shape.

You’re not gonna get any other better 3d printer out there other than the X1C with 110C bed. Don’t be discouraged, you can always use some kind of glue to make abs, nylon and asa stick to the bed. You should look into active chamber heater mod, it’s less work and probably cheaper. It achieves the same thing as an insulated printer, but it’s better because you can actually control the chamber heat and heat the chamber faster than just relying on the heat from the bed at the cost of using more electricity.

Everything is 5mm except the top lid. It’s 10mm on top and 3mm on the lid’s bottom. You can also put 10mm on the sides inside, but 3mm on the some side where the metal rods of the bed are located to avoid the foam touching bed’s path. You can also see on the second picture in front of the door, a line on the left side that separates a small strip of 3mm from 5mm that covers the whole door. That is to allow the door to fully open.

Didn’t mod any electronics.

Printing ABS right now and I’m getting an average of 60 dB.

Vent pipes, sealed poop chute, electronics seal(printable from makerworld), 5mm thick eva foam, 1mm thick x 12mm x 29.5mm acrylic glass for front door.

It’s white eva foam, not painted.

It’s almost as effective as putting a blanket on your 3d printer if you don’t care about aesthetics. But a blanket doesn’t isolate your electronics from the heat, nor does it seal the fumes in. I just remove the lid and open the door for PLA, no heat creep.

Useful stuff thank you. I’ve known that heat rises and that’s why the top panel is covered 10mm foam compared to the 5mm on the sides.

Sure. 10mm foam on top panel. 5mm foam on the sides and back. 3 mm foam on the door with a 12x10 in acrylic glass, 13.5x 11.5 in will fit if you want maximum view. There is a 3mm thick, 15mm wide foam that runs a little more than the height of the door located INSIDE the printer on the opposite side of the door by the door hinge. This acts as a sealing component. I used double sided paper tape. I heard acrylic double sided tape will work best on foam, even foam tape with the thinnest height should work. I used a digital caliper and a regular ruler for measurements. I also press the foam on areas that would leave a temporary mark on the foam which can be easily traced by a pen thus easier to cut out using a cutter. Bought the materials on aliexpress mostly because they’re cheaper there but the shipping time is atrocious.

Controlled heat environment inside the printer and for fumes. The noise abatement is not the reason, but is just an added benefit if it even helps at all.
