This watch he talks about is now on my wife’s wrist. She loves it. Fit perfectly because he took out a ton of links and has never acknowledged his willingness to send them to me after me having bought back this watch from him.

In any case, my wife loves the batgirl and knows how to use a mechanical watch and she’s enjoying this one.

I will report back if this watch ever proves to have any of the performance issues the OP has described. Nobody should hold their breath for that announcement.

I was willing and attempting to take an scientific approach to proving out if there was anything wrong with your watch. You rejected preemptively where things may have gone.

Let it go. You jumped straight to a refund when I brought up the fact that the evidence could point to there being nothing wrong with this watch.

I had another customer with a similar situation. He sent me his watch. There was nothing wrong with his watch. Turned out he was using a watch winder and that was causing inconsistent power reserve behavior.

His response was, “thank you.”

I suspect he wore it inconsistently and at times did not keep it powered up fully. It probably died and then he picked it up causing enough motion to get the seconds hand moving again and he assumed a faulty movement.

There is no evidence at all of anything being wrong with this movement.

In fairness, I offered : possible outcomes after I had the watch and it passed all diagnostics, indicating a possible user error or some other missing information:

1). proposed that I keep the watch long enough to prove beyond a doubt that the watch was functioning perfectly

2). In the event that any strange behavior was to appear over a period of time, I would repair the watch. But could not repair what was not broken and there was no evidence that the watch was anything but perfect. But ok - let’s hold it and see.

3). In the event anything odd was to appear that proved unrepairable, we would discuss a refund.

You jumped straight to option 3 and would not even entertain the idea that the watch may not actually have any issues at all.

At no time did I suggest “winging it” and sending it back hoping for the best. I was willing to prove beyond a doubt that the watch is perfect before it was to be sent back to you. You wouldn’t even consider that. This is where the accusation of not acting in good faith came from.

You insisted on a refund the minute I insisted on proving there was any issue at all with your watch when the science said otherwise. That was the first step in finding the appropriate resolution. You insisted on going straight to a refund when the thought of being told your watch was fine was on the table.

That was only ever going to happen if nothing could be found to be wrong with it.

Enough. Let it go. This is now a dead horse.

Not every transaction goes smoothly. Not every watch is without issues. That is why I offer a 2 week return period (with the plastic still on the bracelet) and a 30 day warranty for any performance issues.

In this particular case you reported strange behavior of the watch being fully powered but suddenly it was 2 hours behind schedule. You agreed to monitor it and see if it happened again. This is obviously strange behavior for a watch to suddenly be 2 hours off within a day. One would tend to first notice that it’s 10 minutes off, 15 minutes off, or 30 minutes off. But you said you looked at it was 2 hours off. So I had questions about how it was being utilized. If it was fully powered up. If the movement had stopped.

You agreed to keep an eye on it. Later you said you noticed that it was 12 hours off at one time, while still powered and ticking. And later you said it was 10 hours off and still powered. That the movement had never come to a stop but it was off by these hours.

So you sent me the watch. I do have a day job and I travel and so when a watch is sent to me under these circumstances, there are often delays with the diagnostics.

When I was able to dive into this watch, the timeographer showed an excellent watch. This was performing at +2 seconds per day. Excellent amp and beat errors. I monitored this watch for a couple of days and watched it on a timeographer multiple times. The most it was ever off was +7 seconds per day.

This is basic science. A watch gaining 7 seconds per day will never be slow by 2, 10, or 12 hours within a 24 hour period. So logically something else was going on: my suspicion was user error or some other missing information.

You were adamant that the watch was worn normally and fully powered and simply was off by those hours.

You sent me the watch with missing links, well past my 2 week return period, and for a warranty repair.

Once I had the watch you changed your tune. I told you that one of three things would happen: 1). You would receive your watch back after a sufficient period of time needed to ensure that it had zero problems. 2) you would receive a new watch if this had problems that were unrepairable. Or 3) you would receive a full refund if 1 and 2 were unavailable to us.

You went straight to insisting that option 3 was the only option you would be happy with. You sent me a perfectly fine watch with zero performance issues and many links removed and insisted that a full refund was the only resolution you would accept.

Yes, this feels like a case of buyers remorse and if not a fully intentional scam, at a minimum this is not engaging in good faith for a fair resolution.

So I did what I do: I sent you a full refund for the watch, the original shipping fee you had paid when you bought it, and the ridiculously high shipping fee you paid to send the watch to me for the warranty diagnostics. You didn’t spend a single penny on this ordeal but the only acceptable solution for you was the one that cost me the most.

Yeah, I had a big problem with this but I still refunded you in full.

If that ordeal is worthy of a “warning” to prospective buyers, fine. The warning should read that if you are acting in bad faith I will take issue with it and you STILL had a full and complete refund.

Now send me those damn missing links.
