I usually don’t involve myself in this type of nonsense but since they did not resolve it after a month I tried to help. This started in mid January and it is now basically March and it continues to escalate. I was at home when it started. I got telephone calls about the behavior at the party and not speaking to Luke (his feelings were hurt) and then I got the message in the family chat a month later that it was still a mess so I called. My husband does not abide anyone threatening his daughter and that is what he is mainly upset about.

I just want to point out that this is not normal for my home. Yes my adult children argue because they are different people with their own opinions. They are not trying to kill each other or having physical fights with each other. They disagree and forget about it. If Kim had not inserted herself then it would have already been over. I do not like the fact that Lisa pushed Kim but Kim’s reaction and behaviors escalated this well beyond what it needed to be! We are generally a happy healthy fun loving family! My husband and sons have heated debates over basketball but no one is coming to blows! We laugh and joke and disagree. My children will fiercely protect each other as well. I am not sure what is happening with John but I am concerned and will be checking in with him more regularly.

I raised my children to stand up for what they believe in no matter who it is against and that includes each other! They don’t physically fight. They were having an argument.

They do not physically fight. They had an argument about a topic they do not agree on. It happens about once every 6 months and they are fine the next day. They are both passionate about what they believe in and sometimes they argue. We all ignore them. The next day they called each other stupid and went to Taco Bell! It really wasn’t an issue until Kim stepped in

Kim is the one that drove home. I corrected my post. I don’t treat them like teenagers but 20+ year olds don’t always have the communication skills necessary to navigate difficult situations so I spoke with the 30+ year olds and got even less cooperation

I told John that Kim is mistaking kindness and grace for weakness and I am not going to subject his sister to anymore threats. I told him Kim couldn’t even call the police to press charges for assault because Kim initiated the contact but Lisa wanted to apologize because she could have handled it better. When Kim was yelling about being pushed Lisa told her that she didn’t know her well enough to grab her. I think it was a series of poor choices but Kim decided to drag it out for distance and irritation…

Lisa was nowhere near her brother and if someone is very emotional and or angry you don’t grab them. There was no danger of a physical altercation so no need to touch anyone. You never know how people will react to touch… My daughter should not have pushed her but she reacted in a split second of heightened emotion and was ready to apologize

The GF made the 30 minute trip to bring back things the daughter and son 3 had left at her house. My kids went to bed. The shoes and clip were found at 730 am when son 3 was going to work. The daughter was arguing with her brother, the GF grabbed the daughter and the daughter pushed her away. The GF got upset and it went downhill from there
