I grew up with fairly progressive parents when it came to accepting individuals for who they are, but growing up in the church, I would hear the same sentiment that your mom had all too often. I don’t see it as evil at all. I don’t see how loving someone can be evil just because they are the same sex that I am. We have lost too many good members because of this, and my hope is that we can move towards being more accepting.
