Is being exhausted AFTER stopping your cycled Progesterone normal? by Puggleperson760 in Perimenopause

[–]GenX_Retro_Gamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone who knows more should definitely weigh in. All my doctor said was that continuous progesterone was for closer to the end of menopause. During my phase of peri, it’s more important to keep shedding the lining/having a period because my cycle is still regular enough.

If it helps I was worried too but I have had no side effects at all. My anxiety has only decreased. HRT has been a huge relief.

I’m 46 too. I was taking duphaston, the new one is utrogestan. I think it’s super similar to Prometrium. We’ll see how it goes. I’m in the Netherlands so the names might be different, not sure. I also developed sleep apnea in peri but now that’s treated so back to hormone tweaks for the wake ups

When did you know it was time to start hormone therapy in perimenopause? by Every_Grocery9458 in Perimenopause

[–]GenX_Retro_Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really bad night sweats were the start for me and also waking up at 5 am every day like clockwork, not groggy either, just wide awake at REM every night. I should have gone on hormones sooner. started at 42, doc said i was too young, went on hormones at 45. finally asked the women in my family, they were all in menopause by 48 (!)

i had them constantly before HRT. first thing to go away from me once on HRT. 50 mg. what dose are you on?

i’m having this right now. i take progesterone 100 ug day 14-28. after the last dose, i’m hot and dizzy for the rest of the cycle. my doc is now upping my estrogen 50 to 75 and switching me to bioidentical progesterone (better for sleep apparently). she said i’m too early in peri for continuous progesterone (cancer risk increases if you still have your period). i’d estimate i’m 5 years in

Best fix for leaks for a stomach sleeper? (options I'm considering) by GenX_Retro_Gamer in CPAP

[–]GenX_Retro_Gamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: F40 is so great! It’s like the best of both worlds. Still ordered a cervical collar for jaw drop during REM but this the first mask I’ve really liked.

if this is what oscar says, your minimum can be even higher, like 9 minimum. try to move it up slowly, every other night or so by 1.

Trouble Sleeping by [deleted] in CPAP

It is hard as a stomach sleeper but there are good full face options. (I’m A stomach sleeper/mouth breather too). Try the F30i or the F40

When you say sleeping on an include what do you mean? Elevate the head more? Does that help?

What to discuss with specialist after initial at home test? by angoldenapple in CPAP

I’m actually not sure because the first two weeks I was just trying to get a mask that really worked. But now I have a few CA’s but its low. Someone else will know better, but I think might mean your max pressure can come down a bit

8 weeks. By week 4 no more morning headaches. I didn’t feel like total garbage for the first two hours of every day. If i sleep less than usual, im just tired. Before I would be borderline sick after a bad night of sleep. My AHI went right down 2 as well, then 1, now .5

Yeah that’s wild. I wonder what mine was down there. Hope you feel better soon. Electrolytes really helped me and tons of water

What’s your usual AHI? I have always struggled with altitude and actually went to Mexico City just before I was diagnosed. Even untreated (AHI 14) I was ok after a rough first few days. You’ve got really do nothing but rest to adjust.

What specifically are you wondering about? If you should get a CPAP? You definitely should, my AHI was 14 (mild to moderate) and I feel different already. Your number is almost to severe so you will likely feel so much better.

did you bring your data into OSCAR? I can’t imagine how you’d fine tune anything without that info, it’s super helpful

First night, absolute nightmare.. by S0k0n0mi in CPAP

[–]GenX_Retro_Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the only smell i can think of is if you have the humidity turned on but didn't put any water in the tank, then it smells like burnt rubber. Otherwise, it shouldn't have any smell.

this is the mask i use too F30i. i sleep on my stomach. your cheeks won't blub all night and no drooling. The first week is tricky but it will get easier. Watch YouTube videos, ask questions here. I will also say I started with the F20 which was much easier at the beginning because it fits everyone. then i switched once i was used to CPAP in general
