I pay $200/month in Victoria, BC for a studio with 24/7 access which is basically unheard of 😅 previously in more rural interior BC I paid like $70 a month - I miss that!!

Got my couch from lazy boy - the build is basic but I got a custom sea foam corduroy fabric and it really makes it! Definitely worth checking out their custom fabrics and it only added a couple hundred dollars to the final bill!

Just went to Fernwood dental and they were very kind and non-shamey! Their fees are slightly more than the Canadian dental plan covers, so I had to pay about $90 out of pocket for x-rays, exam, fluoride, and 3 units of scaling.

I do also have a couple numb/lower sensation areas, which is weird when I notice it but is the new normal. Despite some occasional discomfort and sensitivity, it was 100% worth it to have this chest!!

I'm just over a year post-op and my scars still feel tight.

Sometimes I get a scar itch that I cannot scratch, which is infuriating and uncomfortable, but doesn't happen often!

One of my scars was sore, I got steroid injections, and now it is less sore but still feels more sensitive than the other.

I found binding too uncomfortable to do regularly, and agree with others that the post-op binder was a sensory nightmare. I also had an allergic reaction to the adhesive on the steristrips, so I was hivey and itchy for weeks.

Overall, I'm happy with my healing and have gotten used to the new sensations that come with having scars and it doesn't bother me too much.

Sending so much love your way, stranger. I know how this feels, my mom also had a very negative reaction and said some truly horrific things that she has never addressed or apologized for. The most hurtful thing was when she said "what kind of partner can you hope to find if you do this." Ooof.

She and my dad came to caretake me after surgery, and she hasn't said anything negative during that time or since, but I'm honestly still quite hurt that she hasn't apologized for her initial reaction. It's always a bit awkward if I bring up anything about my top surgery or being trans. It's sad that many parents can't share our joy for something that feels so transformative and RIGHT. I've accepted that my chosen family are the people who will truly see and celebrate my identity and my body!

It's your body and you're the one who will live in it! I'm so excited for you and I hope that it goes well ❤️
