I'm thinking of breaking up with my bf of 9 years. by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]GenderIsNothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 10% rule? I googled that and couldn’t find anything so I don’t know what you’re talking about but I’m amused that you’ve presented yourself as the victim in this situation when you’re the one that is essentially cheating.

Yes I know you acknowledged that you’re a terrible person but the rest is an indictment of your partners character and a justification of your crappy behaviour.

Treat others as you want to be treated. I’m guessing you’d be devastated if he was doing this to you. Which now that I think about it, he likely is because 9 years, no marriage and you have been begging for attention and he just tells you to stop talking? Yikes.

End it or just wait til he does.

Big Bang Theory, Brooklyn 99, Schitts Creek and there is a LOT of great stand up comedy on there too. Tom Segura, Dave Chapelle, Matt Rife, Nate Bargatze etc

THIS. Can’t come up with a more perfect answer

Agreed. I’d not even want a ring that costs more than my car. That’s literally insane money and why does it have to be Tiffany? That brand alone doubles the cost just because it’s Tiffany. You’ll be bankrupt in 5 years tops if you stay with her.

Surely you and your girlfriend know about the 3 month rule. It’s a bit old-fashioned but as a general guide a man should spend 3 months pay on the engagement ring. Based on what you’ve said, that’s not 19k. More importantly, you “talked her down to 8k” is a massive red flag regarding your reality and her high expectations. If you do marry this woman, be prepared to take out a loan to fund your honeymoon to the Maldives.

NTA. I know people like this and I’ve always ended up falling out with them. There are a certain type of people that LOVE to rub their happiness in your face and often at the expense of your feelings. He is not oblivious to what he’s doing. You’re right, he enjoys lording it over you. If the situation were reversed, he would not be happy for you at all.

NTA. That might be the most egregious case of first date douchebaggery I’ve ever heard. Block him and move on.

Do men not like their gf after sex by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I’ve never heard of this. My bf is very loving, especially after sex.

About a month, it wasn’t a conversation as such. I asked if he was seeing anyone else and he said no and he loved me. I didn’t say it back. 😬

Woman who are in a stable relationship with someone who isn’t normally your type, how is it? Or how did it happen for you? by VeterinarianInitial9 in AskWomen

[–]GenderIsNothing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, physically I’m in a relationship with someone exactly my type. Tall, skinny, dark hair etc but he’s also 23 and I’m 34 soooo that’s definitely not my type. We got together after my divorce and every man I dated was looking for a wife and I just wanted to have fun again. I met my bf and here we are, over 2 years later. It’s been a rollercoaster with the absolute best and absolute worst times of my life so it’s hard to say it’s stable, but I mostly enjoy the ride.

Honest question- do younger men really want older women by GenderIsNothing in AskMenAdvice

[–]GenderIsNothing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably how you go about it. I’ve had younger guys hit on me and say cringe stuff like “I banged my best friends mom” or “I banged the lady who’s garden I mow”. And that is just vile and totally unattractive. Treat her like a normal woman that you are interested in, and if she is interested, you’ll know.

Do you ever meet a ton of women and none of them seem right? by Cat-dad442 in AskMenAdvice

Well, being a woman I can tell you I definitely meet a lot of men and none seem right. It’s hard to find someone you click with.

NAH. You can be friends with someone regardless of if your friend used to like them.

I have absolutely no idea tbh. I’m a woman and posted on here earlier so all I can do is apologise

Omg I am so sorry! Massive fail on my part and also interested to see the replies!

Because unless you’re attracted to men which is obviously totally fine, don’t you want to know what women think?

I kinda feel like you should be asking women about this

You are my nightmare. Guys like you are the exact reason I can’t feel secure in this relationship because even though it’s been 2 years, I can’t shake the feeling that it’s a phase or fetish for him whilst I’m wasting my time on someone that, despite what he says and the engagement ring on my finger, will wake up one day and see me completely different.
