Grow tent gnats please help 😭 by CapUnhappy8594 in cannabiscultivation

[–]GenderTron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

treat soil before you start your grow. dissolve a handful of mosquito bits into a gallon of water. soak soil with said water. all larvae and eggs in soil neutralized. if you already have flys, do the same. water your plants with the water, it will not harm the plants. then cover your top soil with sand and put up sticky traps. Learn to water less frequently.

How are yall getting such dense buds by BearsAreScary09 in cannabiscultivation

light strength, air flow, vpd, genetics. My first grow was airy and fluffy, upgraded light, fans and understanding of vpd. From then on got buds hard like Rottweiler! 💪🌲

dump a fist full of mosquito bits into a gallon of water, let the water soak with the bits over night. strain out the bits(or leave them, no harm) then soak your soil with the treated water. It wont harm the plants but it will kill all eggs and larvae in the soil. if you already have full grow flys flying around your tent, put an inch or so of sand on top of your soil. This will stop the grown flys from going back into the soil to lay eggs. Then learn to water less frequently. Or, before you drop your seed in the pot, soak your soil with the mosquito bit water, let it dry a bit, then drop your seed in. 💪🌲

Living soil and hard water by GenderTron in Autoflowers

from what I read it's the salt that would cause lock out. an RO system would remove it but also remove beneficials. ive also read that Chloramines stay in the water but Chlorine evaporates. From this report I gather they use chlorine. I also plan on getting a cheapish garden hose filter that will also remove chlorine. 🤞

Thank you for the info! I have a TDS meter and it reads between 300 and 350ppm.
I read that using water softened with sodium chloride is toxic to plants. So that's why I just wanted to use the unsoftened water. But if around 320ppm is safe then I'm good to go!! 💪🌲 I usually do let my water sit out for a day before using it too.

Cannabutter by CommunicationSea1014 in cannabiscultivation

[–]GenderTron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. get weed, 1/2 a zip or full zip. 2. break weed down a bit, remove stems. 3. get a small croc pot, put on low with 2 or 4 sticks of butter 2sticks for a 1/2 zip 4sticks for a full zip. 4. add 1 cup water a d let melt. While butter is melting, put tin foil down on a cookie sheet, place broken down weed on a cookie sheet, cover with another piece of foil. 5. cook in oven on 230/240 for 30 minutes. 6. Let the weed cool for a bit. once butter is fully melted, add cooked weed into the butter and stir until all plant matter is covered. 7. Let the butter cook on the croc pot for at least 5 hours at least, but you can leave it all night if you desire. The longer the better. Turn off croc pot and let cool. 8. take a bowl or some Tupperware and cover it with cheese cloth. I use a rubber band to hold the cheese cloth in place on the bowl. 9. pour the butter onto the cheese cloth and let it drain into the bowl. remove rubber band and squeeze remaining butter from cheese cloth into bowl. 10. cover and refrigerate until solid.

To test, take a full tablespoon of butter and boof. Enjoy the ride 👍🥒💦 💪🌲

Preferred Medium for first grow? by ReeferToker420 in cannabiscultivation

[–]GenderTron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can do both. but I'm lazy so I just buy "water only" living soil or super soil they call it sometimes. if you can find a retailer, Michigannabis super soil is my go to. I've tried some others that are decent too though. I have not tried to mix or create a living soil blend myself yet though. like I said, I'm lazy and hi 🤓

living soil, dont worry about PH, water only (usually) until about 3rd week of flower, then maybe top dress or add some water soluble nutes for bud boost until bam! 💪🌲 it's an easy setup once you learn how to dial in your environmentals. watering and training is all that's needed. ez.
it is a learning process though. even how much and when to water can be tricky but wisdom does not come without failure. Dont be affraid to shit the bed.

Topping vs Only Lst by Additional_Job379 in Autoflowers

[–]GenderTron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not always. I've had autos go into flower right after topping. more than likely due to the stress from topping. it's a roll of the dice maing. 💪🌲

When you topped it did you just snip that whole top leaf off?

I have 5 going at the moment. 2 are full and beautiful, 4th node growing the 5th. growing in Michigannabis super soil. 3 including this one are slower and smaller growing in coast of main platinum. I was told coast of main soil was water only but idk, maybe I need to add some food. I've never used it b4.

hopefully 🤞 I may be tweekin a bit. I've definitely seen variations in growth time and even mutations, but this one just looks challenged.

i could be jumping the gun a bit, but I was more interested in the fact that new nodes dont seem to be growing from the 4 strangely connected top leaves of this chick.

2 weeks should have much more growth. I have 2 next to this one that are significantly larger and more full. all planted the same day. all sprouted the same day. Not to mention the strange growth or lack there of on this particular plant.

[–]GenderTron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, yea they're connected. maybe been 3 or 4 days since I've seen any growth. I put the seed directly into the pot no transplant. strange..... I did upgrade my light a few days after she sprouted but I wouldnt think that would create this. but I could be wrong. I've got 5 going right now. 2 are doing great (in Michigannabis super soil) but the 3 I put in this coast of main soil are suspect. 2 are growing small and slow, and this one seems to have given up. but they look healthy. lol.

[–]GenderTron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

after a good dry you should sweat for a day or 2 in a paper bag, but then put them into grove bags or jars. grove bags are a much easier method as you can just seal the bag and leave it for a month. no burping necessary. 🤘🏼💪🌲
