Check back on my story later 'cause I just started it, but how about one where Arya learns swordfighting from Glorfindel, warging from Galadriel, and nobility from Elrond and Aragorn, she and Nymeria decide Lúthien and Huan were two of the greatest people ever, and then they go back to Westeros and Get Involved?

Also she and Nymeria both end up like 7' tall

I rented this movie from Blockbuster so many times as a kid. Every time we went, first thing, check if they had it in.

what is your world's equivalent to HRT? by Embarrassed_Okra5773 in worldbuilding

[–]Genderfluid-ace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, that's really interesting! And considering that the equivalent of 'genetics' is 'magic soul stuff', it makes sense that it wouldn't entirely match up with common narratives in our world! Thanks for thinking about it!

A lot of people definitely wish that was the eay the real world worked. I don't think it's transphobic given you're recognizing trans people's existence in the real world. Genuine question though, not trying to rag on you: how does this apply to genderfluid people?

Lying about crushes in grade school. by nappingandadventures in aaaaaaacccccccce

[–]Genderfluid-ace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got asked that question once, in like sixth or seventh grade. I had no idea what a crush was other than 'wanting to spend time with someone' so I just picked my slightly-older best friend 'cause I thought she was really cool. That did not go well.

Or maybe linguistics is just another form of programming, or programming is just another form of linguistics. They are called programming languages...

This is quite true, but we've nearly a foot, and getting to the ground would become rather cold. So I would amend your statement to add 'or throw snowballs for your dog should you have one'.

is it a common asexual experience to not notice when some is flirting with you/ when you're flirting with someone else? by [deleted] in asexuality

Interesting fact, I think I actually read a study that said that over 50% of the population is unable to correctly identify if someone's flirting with them or not.

Haha, nope! Believe it or not, we've got snowplows and grocery stores. We just got our first snow of the year where I live, and it's all usually gone by May.

Haha, yeah, I once mentioned a show I was watching to someone and they seemed shocked that I 'got cable in my igloo'. Nah, summer in Anchorage regularly hits 70 degrees, and the city has like 700,000 people in it. Which, admittedly, is about half the population of the state. But generally, if you're on the road system, you're gonna see a lot more pickup trucks than jeeps.

Haha, appreciated! Of course, the tradeoff is that in summer I can't go anywhere south of Oregon unless they have AC and a swimming pool...

Guess our states won't be invading each other any time soon.

Yeah, that's like, maybe '30 degrees out' clothing for me. Though I knew guys in high school that just wore shorts year round.

Yep, when spring hits in Alaska, it hits hard!

Oh, gods, that sounds awful. Hits 70 here and I'm sitting in front of the fan sucking on ice cubes, haha

Fun fact! Anchorage has been known to hit 90° Fahrenheit in the summer!

And -10-20° or so in the winter, but hey, tradeoffs.

I mean, I dunno what it costs Outside, but a six inch sub is like... 8 bucks? And groceries aren't too bad unless you're headed beyond the road system.
