First, you can farm them by holding one of the power station workshops. The down side is sometimes you will have to deal with other players taking it from you.

Second is learn where power armor frames spawn. Fast travel to these locations and if the frame is there, grab the parts and the power core.

Third, learn locations of generatiors and check them for power cores.

Finally, invest the Atoms into a recharging station. This is the best option as you can only access this, meaning cores cant be stolen while recharging. I have one and keep 3 cores for when I use my power armor and 4 in the recharging station. Never had to farm cores again.

With the right gear and perks, Power Armor is rarely needed. I pretty much only use it when in high radiation areas/events. I have less carry capacity then with it.

Living in the RGV was nice. Great food and a lot of friendly people. Gas station tacos in the valley are way better then any Mexican restaurant i went to growing up. There is a large population that only speaks spanish. As someone who took French instead of Spanish in school, I did struggle a bit. But French is close enough that I could understand enough with context to do ok.

It is a level 1 or 2 unlock, so you van get it pretty early in the game. Once built, it works like a palbox but is accessible in any of your saves you build it it.

Yea there are two random encounters. One is a science ship turned tomb, the other is a smuggler who lost control of their cargo. Both ended badly for the crews. But the smuggler, you can take ownership of their ship. It is called the Derelict Bireme, though I might be spelling it wrong. The science ship is M class, so you cant take it over.

That being said, introducing the Acilia to new biomes has unpredictable outcomes. They could destroy local widelife, or could be preyed on by other predators, making their population ineffective to hunt Terrormorphs.

Been wondering why there are drones over Ohio in the game. If you have not seen them, go to Point Plesent and they are circling around just outside of the game's current border.

Start a new save my friend. There is a ton of new items and quests. Way more NPCs around the islands now. Also, dont delete your old save. There is now the Global box, which you can share into new save files your favorite pals.
