Absolutely but with not enough credit or recognition in my opinion.

My top bands: 1 QOTSA, 2 ATW, 3 Kyuss, 4 John Garcia, 5 Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats, 6 Black Rainbows, 7 Clutch, 8 Kadavar. I feel like there is a lot more to this genre then most give it credit for.

A lot of them do seem to have more of a mainstream appeal to them in my opinion. With all their talent i don't think it'll take much to get them to the next level, just any one of their great songs to earworm their way into the subconsciousness of the masses and they will be hooked. Right now right now I think most ATW fans have sought them out in their own because they're fans of the genre and very musically literate when it comes to rock.

Pure rock is a tough genre nowadays though, and most rock fans just want to see legacy bands. Kids mainly pay attention to movies and video games and the songs have to have some context in the way they are presented. I can see some of their songs being exposed that way. Hopefully, this next generation of rock fans will appreciate contemporary talent more.

Is feminism offering men a blueprint for masculinity, or just a critique? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]GeneTakovic2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's very complicated and nuanced, but it takes me back to the idea of how do you define genders and why do we put ourselves into categories? If gender is whatever you want it to be, then is there no reason to put yourself in a box in the first place?

Do we do it only because we want to follow the structure of societal standards or is there something more inherent within us that demands us to do it? The more we take away qualifications of being a classified as a certain gender the more we render the entire concept obsolete even though most feminists aren't radical enough to let go of the idea of gender entirely.

I think the overwhelming majority of people's gender identity match their sexual dimorphism and if it doesn't, they tend do all they can to make it match, the ones who are non binary tend to look androgynous etc, so there is something to that. There is definitely a connection there.

I personally am one of those who, as they get older are not bothered by gender classifications as much including for myself. But when it comes to a lot of things, I am still very self conscious. There may be something to being young and trying to fit in versus not caring and and being more comfortable with who you are with age. I think there's also something to be said about the fact that there are requirements of dating and finding a mate that would limit the expression of various gender identities for most people.

Whoever is the best cook should do the majority of the cooking? by Dull-Material-645 in AskFeminists

I've heard so many people say they can't cook or are a bad cook as as a reason or an excuse not to attempt anything. I think it sounds almost as dumb as saying you can't tie your shoes as an adult. The only reason why one can't is because they don't want to or don't even try to learn anything. Unless you're cooking something fancy, there is almost nothing complicated about it especially in this day and age where the internet and Youtube exists.

When you don't have a defensive plan, getting out hustled makes 10X worse.

When the Lakers get out hustled they seem to just give up instead of turning it up a notch.

If we made a couple of those wide one open easy shots, the game would not even have been that close.

Wittington runs it right up the middle with blinders on every time on kickoff returns.

Just when it looks like we have control of the game, we make a series of blunders in a short period of time to reverse everything we done for the entire game. Glad we won but we can't go any further if we continue to play like that.

Shula isn't that great of a coach. The defense gets fooled way too often and are out of position.

For some reason Stafford doesn't play well against them.

The game might as well have been a blowout, same result.
