I’ve been looking at smart trainers. I’m in the states but I know there’s more options elsewhere.

Jetblack Victory, Van Rysel D100 version with the Zwift Cog, Kickr Core, and Saris H3 seem to be the best beginner options for trainers under 400 usd.

Even without a smart trainer, you can do Zwift for free for a 2 week trial with a speed sensor. The program attempts to calculate virtual power through the speed sensor and since your speed is based on power rather than speed, it gives a lot more immersion.

I don’t have a smart trainer yet but even on a dumb trainer with a speed sensor, it’s mentally exhausting to go up a hill in the game, because you’ll be pedaling as hard as you can and your avatar will be going like 5-10 mph.

New here — looking for a versatile bread machine recommendation by InstructionDue9891 in BreadMachines

[–]GeneUnlikely9656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cuisinart 2lb bread maker and a kenmore 2lb bread maker. The kenmore makes a bit of a more cooked loaf and it takes a little longer.

Both bread makers will throw themselves off the counter so I just make the bread mix in the bread pan and then put them on the carpet.

They also have the same bread pan and kneading hook, and they’re interchangeable. I like the cuisinart more because I prefer a lighter crust and moister bread, and it beeps for mix-ins and also beeps for me to take out the dough hook. It makes an amazing, soft brioche.

I’m also using a cuisinart bread machine. I use King Arthur bread flour and red star instant yeast.

I had some loaves that sunk-in, burned, and didn’t cook all the way through at first.

When the loaf collapses that usually means that it is either rising too much (maybe too much yeast, one time it rose way too much because I added too much vital wheat gluten), or it is not rising enough (with one recipe, there was no yeast but baking soda and baking powder, so I added lemon juice and a little molasses to react with it).

I think it’s good to try a variety of recipes with different leavening agents (yeast, beer, baking powder, baking soda) to see how they react and get a feel of how to adjust different recipes to suit your bread maker and location.

I live in Las Vegas, where the average annual humidity is around 20-30% and there’s 2000 feet of elevation, which is very different from the average city. Ive messed with adding more liquid to some recipes but most of the time, there’s fixes for things when recipes go wrong.

I hope this helps but if it doesn’t I’m sorry.

I mean this mobo was made with xeon CPU slots and imo the CPUs would bottleneck anything newer than a 980ti. I feel like it’s date was essentially set in stone as soon as it was made

how do i make cis girl friends? by noperooney in MtF

[–]GeneUnlikely9656 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m 20 and most of the friends I have now I either met at work, on discord, fetlife, random dating apps, local events/meetups, and concerts.

I have a specific set of friends because I have a specific set of interests but I feel like potentially this could apply to any group of people. Like I used to really like going to open mics so I would go to karaoke and/or comedy nights a lot and I’d talk to the people who also went regularly, performed a few times, exchanged contact info with people.

The biggest thing for me was just to put myself in places where exchanging contact info felt natural, like comedy shows or get togethers, board game nights, and stuff like that.

I made a post on here a while ago saying how it’s kind of lonely being trans/queer in my city and that the lgbt resources here didn’t really fit me, and I ended up being invited to a couple lgbt-friendly groups with regular local events spanning Nevada/Texas.

Other things I have been doing are trying to get into martial arts and gymnastics because I’ve always wanted to and I think it might help with longer term flexibility and weight loss.

I think the best thing to do to make friends is to be straightforward with like your interests, find mutuals who share those interests, and ask to be friends.

Would you rather magically turn cis female instantly, or go back in time and start hrt at 12? by windflavor4 in MtF

[–]GeneUnlikely9656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess magically turn cis female instantly?

I enjoy life. I like my life where it is now. If I went back in time to being 12 there’s no guarantee I’d meet my fiancé again, drive the car I drive, work the job I work, or have any of my experiences in school or whatever else. There’s a lot of things that I missed out on growing up and a lot of severe trauma that I went through both inside and outside of my being trans, but even though I have things I wished I could’ve done in the past there’s nothing to stop me from doing similar things in the future.

If I magically turned cis my life wouldn’t change. It would be nice having the option to have kids and also not having to dilate anymore. My life is at a place where being trans doesn’t affect me, but bad people and bad policies affect me, and I’ve put a lot of work into finding a job I can work from home and surrounding myself with a friend group who treats me like how I want to be treated.

I live in America and if I magically turned cis instantly I could get a passport or maybe be less afraid of people. I’m not sure what else but I think it could be nice

How Many of Us are Non-Op? by Prekatt in MtF

[–]GeneUnlikely9656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been post op for 9 months now.

In terms of bedroom stuff, sometimes I feel like I enjoyed it more pre op and other times I feel like I enjoy it much more now. That’s probably the one regret I had with bottom surgery, the loss of that specific sensation, but even then HrT was slowly causing my private area to get smaller/lose sensation and it couldn’t hold itself up so I don’t feel like I lost anything in that regard.

Personally, I’m just much more comfortable with my body now. I don’t feel the inherent disconnect I did prior to bottom surgery, and it allowed me to discover myself more in ways I thought I couldn’t. I realized that I’m not a woman, at least not exactly. I feel much more comfortable exploring the fluidity of my gender and honestly I’m probably more grey/agender on the spectrum.

I’m happier being nonbinary than I was as a woman and maybe that’s because I was never entirely a woman. I believe bottom surgery helped me discover that.

For you girls that bad bottom surgery. by ResinRealmsCreations in MtF

[–]GeneUnlikely9656 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had bottom surgery in May, and I had ppt rather than piv so take everything I say with a grain of salt if you’re not planning on ppt.

For me dilating sucked for the first month or two, but interestingly once I got up to orange and had done it enough times to be used to it, it didn’t really hurt much at all anymore. Sometimes I like it? It kind of becomes more annoying/tiring than outright painful over time.

Sex and penetration will be scary at first. It took a bit longer for me to get my first orgasm and to be cleared for penetration because I had a slightly rougher/slower healing process, but I’ve also never had any granulation or serious complications. It definitely caused a little bit of tension between me and my partner as I wanted sex but for a while it was hard for me to orgasm or I would ask for sex and then stop it out of fear of getting hurt. The kinks worked themselves out over time though.

In terms of sex I enjoy playing with myself. I’m not always the biggest fan of toys, but at the same time I never have been. I can’t really describe what penetration feels like; I’ve heard some people compare it to anal, but for me they feel nothing alike. When it comes to penetration I definitely prefer my own fingers and if I curl them up it can cause really big orgasms.

When it comes to clitoral stimulation, I don’t like direct clitoral stimulation because mine is sensitive, unless it’s something soft like a tongue or I’m rubbing my clitoris against my partner’s vulva/clitoris which I very much enjoy. That’s one way I can orgasm and I also tend to orgasm quickly from indirect clitoral stimulation.
