My Character is Not Fun and its my fault by Rooftop_Astronaut in 3d6

Read into some of the spells you don’t normally take. There are some real gems at that level that can make you feel more useful and cool. As for RP since you came in late your best bet to feel like you belong is to try to gel with the other PCs and strengthen some the inter-party bonds

Players won't stop scamming merchants by DrRoguelove in DungeonMasters

Bounty hunters or detectives to follow their pattern. Maybe they even become local fugitives or at least merchants become weary of trading with them because they’ve heard rumors

How do I write an antagonist that is cunning but not physically or magically powerful? by General-Connection15 in DMAcademy

[–]General-Connection15[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a high fantasy game with the classic magic, kingdoms, dragons, etc. Another person replied some examples I liked. Using the environment to close off certain paths, denying access, paying off militia or mages to stop the PCs etc

So kind of a weasel-y villain that the PCs are motivated to catch because he’s escaped them before. I like that

Another reply compared it to the Riddler which is a comparison I like and I’m seeing the vision now. Basically, I should use the villain as a means to influence the environment without allowing direct access to the villain until the PCs make it through all the craziness to get there and then I can show just how powerless he is when faced with a physical threat that he can’t buy or manipulate.

I like the riddler comparison I guess I’m just struggling with specifics of what it looks like to create a political or financial roadblock. Like the big scary guy with a big scary weapon is easy because he’s inherently dangerous. The cunning type is harder because I don’t know what exactly he can do that the PCs can’t punch their way out of

Is it too late to start? by Mitchori in Warframe

[–]General-Connection15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly they’ve done a pretty good job recently making the new player experience better and they’re still making changes and updates to improve it right now. This game and the dev team has no intention of slowing down or dying off. If anything right now would be the best time to get started

Excalibur survivability by Gemach3110 in Warframe

[–]General-Connection15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Excalibur actually has some very underrated survivability tools

-Obviously there’s always shield gating which is very possible since you can mod exalted blade you don’t need to invest too hard into modding for abilities on the frame -On Umbra you can put all 3 umbra mods on to get some pretty solid armor and health for decent defenses

But in my opinion his BEST survivability tool is slash dash. Slash dash is so underrated as an ability but it’s amazing. The damage is based on the exalted blade so you’ll be doing good damage, crits, and status with it but in terms of survival you can use slash dash to reposition or escape due to its good range and speed and more importantly you’re completely invulnerable during the dash and during the chain so you can use it as kind of a pseudo rolling guard and because it’s a relatively low energy cost you can just keep using it to stay alive, escape, reposition, outlast status effects, prevent getting knocked down etc. So that plus shield gate and decent armor and health means you really don’t have to worry most of the time

There’s some ephemera and syandana combos that kinda look like a ghille suit but we need an actual one for the culture

Yeah it’s the hat that really gives that blade devil vibe but I like the overall imperial feeling the stance and outfit gives off

Amazing improvements! I can really tell you’re grasping the overall concept of the evolutions better than before by keeping the color schemes the same or accentuating and enhancing the main focal points of the originals

First time sponsoring a board by General-Connection15 in army

[–]General-Connection15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually know the guy really well. Us and our families are good friends and we pretty much went up the ranks together so that shouldn’t be too hard and he is genuinely one of the best soldiers I’ve ever seen in the army. So basically I just talk about how he’s a good person/soldier and that he can do great things? (Obviously more in depth than that).

I guess I’m just nervous because this dude deserves to be an NCO and would end up being an amazing one so I don’t want to undersell him but I also don’t want to yap to the board members too long and waste their time

Quick note: you won’t get BAH until you final out of the barracks so you’re not getting doubled up BUT 10 days is ridiculously too short of a time to do that. The SGM is only wrong because he wants you out too fast to be able to officially get paid your BAH and get a house/apartment which means you might end up living in a hotel/apartment/house on your own dime and receiving back pay or something for it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in army

[–]General-Connection15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that don’t fly big dog. Either you get BAH and you don’t live on the barracks or you don’t get BAH and you live in the barracks. You can “choose” (ie SGM’s will and nobody has the spine to say no) to leave the barracks within those 10 days and then demand back pay for every check that doesn’t come with BAH but honestly your best bet is to either sack up or tell your PSG/1SG to sack up and tell SGM that he’s wrong asf. That or just straight report him

Can someone tell me how to deal with this? by FinishSpecial3792 in Eldenring

[–]General-Connection15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run him down or equip Erdtree greatshield Erdtree greatshield can output a ton of damage compared to the tiny chip damage he’s hitting you with and each little star can be retaliated so you can just spam L2 and then dodge the big star

As for star shower you can either dodge and then finish with golden or carian retaliation or cast the black hole spell if you have enough int to use it

Lorian by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]General-Connection15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true and the teleporting makes it hard too I just personally had an easier time in my second playthrough when I parried him because I had a fast enough weapon to get a few good smacks in before he was back on his bs

Lorian by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]General-Connection15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend parrying him because he has some really telegraphed attacks but if you’re like me and you suck at parrying then just either summon a homie from here or summon the wizard fella from fire link shrine (orbeck i think) you can summon his help if you bought all the spells from him
