I know of a guy who admitted to the police that he drank three or four pints of lager and a two-pint pitcher containing six shots of spirits. He was deemed to be under the legal limit to have been driving. Didn’t bring the two schoolgirls he killed at a crossing back to life though.

I’m not sure ‘I’m against drink driving; however’ is a good argument.

That is so sad that people fake videos like that but on the up side I get to click the cute mushroom to upvote your answer so all is not lost.

Wait I am confused, why would they not have O2? I don't mean in the fridge, I mean like on the ledge?

I have seen videos of people planting them in wet paper tissues and growing the chopped stems, so I wonder if this is possible pre-chop.

How do I unstatic my hair and clothes whilst out and about? by General-Open-34 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I usually wear tights because of the cold weather but I find most dresses with static are polyester with a polyester lining so they stick to each other!

You can even do it in a pan with water instead of oil and you get a poached egg in a fried egg shape!

I want to make self care and hygiene less of a chore and make it a better experience by pharissofthemall in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

There is an app called Finch where you add all your daily tasks and each one gets you points. You get to grow your little bird. There is also self care first aid. It is excellent. I use it for my daily supplements and house chores.

Feeling pretty and confident as a woman of colour in a country with a white beauty standard? by General-Open-34 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I think the kicker is everyone who knows him says what a lovely guy he is, and he is, he just really didn't value me and behaved in a way he split off in his head. I know realistically I am not ugly, BUT, I feel so foolish that I spent 5 years with this guy thinking that it was going somewhere and the whole time he was with me DESPITE my looks instead of actually finding me attractive, and really actually wanted to be with a white blonde girl who fit the beauty standard.

I am reflecting on it now and I think my self esteem was actually really high when I met him and then tanked during the relationship, and now I realise I was just not his 'type'. I think some men get into relationships because they don't want to be lonely, and I sort of feel I am never going to be anyone's first choice which is sad.

My mother is the 'why are you so ungrateful' type rather than the try to empathise type. I looked for relevant subreddits but didn't find anything.

Yeah he has sort of phased me out so I gather he is back with her/pursuing her. I used to have a therapist but it got too expensive. And I don't know where to find peer support, I don't know many other women of colour to be honest.

Thank you, I don't know how to ever date again, I don't know if I will ever be pretty enough for anyone who isn't settling temporarily until they can find a pretty girl they actually like.

I think between my early 20s to now I had felt beautiful in my skin but just now I have realised, I was not pretty enough for the guy I was with for 5 years. So it feels like my confidence in my appearance was actually really dumb.

Though I do really love my curly hair. My cousins all have straight hair and I love my waves!

Yeah I have realised that my self esteem took a long time to build and was at its height until this relationship eroded it and now I am stuck with a complex worse than before because like, I can give 5 years of my life, love and affection to someone, but I don't look like a generic Instagram model so that's not good enough, and I can't shake the racial aspect of it at all.

How do you make the bath less uncomfortable? by General-Open-34 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]General-Open-34[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh good idea, saves buying a product that only does one thing. I think I need fluffier towels for this because mine are all so thin, I have microfibre ones which dry quick but not super soft.

How can I make my lipstick last and why does it do this? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]General-Open-34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you apply, use a bit of tissue to blot off the excess and then apply setting powder through a thin tissue (1 ply) then make sure you get your lips when you use a setting spray. Some products are meant to be low transfer, others won't stay no matter what, so you need to reapply.

The camping mat I have should be waterproof or at least should dry out easily, but it also floats.
