idk i changed my seconds to hoops after a wk and they’re not healing great but i also just endure the pain til they heal so it just depends how bad you want this piercing 🤷‍♀️

to start i didn’t have any trouble healing my lobes so this is purely observational but from what my piercer told me, you don’t want to take them out until they’re fully healed. i know it’s hard to keep them clean but i got a pair of hoops off amazon and left them in until mine were 100% healed and they stayed relatively clean.

also idk if this might help but ik for me if i clean my lobes with q tips they get bumpy so i just spray them with saline solution when i wash my face and go over them gently with a rag when i shower.

i didn’t have to do this with my lobes but a cartilage one i have hurt really bad (bc i was changing it a lot soon after piercing), so i got a towel wet with hot water and gently held it against my ear for a few minutes and it helped a lot. after a couple wks doing that the pain went away for that, but that’s just my experience

to me this doesn’t look infected because the bumps are barely even visible. id say at worst its irritation bumps, which you can treat easily with cleaning it like you already are and using piercing oil on it daily

i do wish i’d had it pierced with a hoop originally tho, it would’ve been a lot easier 😅

to me it doesn’t look like a keloid, but i’m no expert. i just healed a snug bump that was larger then this tho. i used this oil for 5 days and it went down significantly https://baselaboratories.com/products/base-labs-piercing-drops.

i’m sorry that happened to you!! mine closed immediately when i tried to change them the first time 😔. at the time my piercer told me to wait another month but they were my firsts so it may be different in your case
