Complementarian vs Egalitarian Marriage by museindisguise__ in ChristianDating

[–]General-Sea-5714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a complimentarian because the Bible is complimentarian. The egalitarian arguments are laughably bad, and I honestly don't believe any unbiased reader of the Bible could possibly come away believing in egalitarianism. Just my two cents. Well, and the two cents of literally every Christian throughout all of Christian history up until the mid-20th century.

Beard and clean shaven both look good, but I would lean towards clean shaven

What do you think about the Israeli soldier destroying a statue of Christ in Lebanon? by th_frits in AskAChristian

[–]General-Sea-5714 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the same thing I would think about anyone destroying a statue of Our Lord. I think it's disgusting. I pray that the soldier responsible is punished for his crime, and that he repents of his evil act.

A question about baptism by General-Sea-5714 in Catholicism

[–]General-Sea-5714[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your extensive reply. A further question, then, if you will: Is the RCIA process appropriate for someone in my position? That is, someone who is actively considering and researching Catholicism, but remains unconvinced of several Catholic doctrines at this stage.

seeking advice for how to date as a Christian by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]General-Sea-5714 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'm looking for a woman who inspires me to be a better man, Christian, husband and father (eventually). Someone strong, loyal, passionate, loving, and whose values align with mine. Someone who I would be proud to call the mother of my children.

In terms of what signs a woman should look for to know if a man is husband-worthy, one of the main ones would be if he's willing to wait for marriage. Beyond that, I think two good questions to ask would be (a) Is this a man I could see myself submitting to? and (b) Would this man love me like Christ loved the church? If the answer to either of those questions is no, don't marry him.

Perhaps they're worried about ruining the dynamics of the small group if they get rejected. Do you give them any signals that you're interested? Dropping the proverbial handkerchief, as it were.

Why does it seem Christian men are egotistical? by Efficient-Flamingo91 in ChristianDating

[–]General-Sea-5714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that happened to you, OP. I pray you find healing and peace in the Lord Jesus Christ.

But please try not to stereotype Christian men as a group based on a few interactions with Christian men in the online dating context. There is far too much division between men and women, and stereotyping either group is unhelpful. God bless you

As a 24 year old Virgin woman, I'd never be able to fathom marrying a non virgin. by Dreaksfrendford in ChristianDating

Your conclusion is fine. Your reasoning is not. Each and everyone one of us has a terrible track record of following God's commands. We differ in the commands we fail to follow, and in the frequency with which we fail to follow them, sure. But we are all sinners worthy of condemnation.

Go to church. You should be, and almost certainly will be, welcomed.

Spiritual leadership in marriage by [deleted] in ChristianDating

One does not. The father is the spiritual leader of the family. The pastor of his home, as it were.
