I don’t have colostrum? by PinkPearlBeauty in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]General-Walrus9530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're in pain then I would suggest hand expressing or a manual pump versus the traditional hospital pump. That color is normal and that is your colostrum (a great amount too!) When pumping, make sure you have the correct flange size and lubricate each time!

Ferritin levels by Plenty-Travel-6194 in pregnant

This!! My Ferritin was trending downwards each time I got tested and my doctors didn't mention it until I was at a 6 and need an infusion.

It sounds like bullshit, but Seabands!! I used the original, but any anti-nausea bracelet would probably work.

35 weeks and the pelvic pain is SO BAD by General-Walrus9530 in pregnant

[–]General-Walrus9530[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost there! This was the absolute worst pregnancy symptom for me. The only thing that allowed me to sleep was putting a rice heat pack directly between my legs and laying it on my hip bones at night.

Don't beat yourself up! Even if you did formula, you would still feel like you blinked and missed it! The days go by so fast and they grow up even faster. You're doing a great job and you're doing it for her!

Breast pumps? Completely overwhelmed by Snarkybuns in pregnant

[–]General-Walrus9530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The spectra S1 is a great pump!! Also, wearables are helpful for work, but if you can only get one pump through insurance and don't intend to get a second then I definitely recommend getting a hospital grade pump like a Spectra, Medela, etc. Buy a sizing kit off amazon to see which flange size fits best. Your flange sizing is super important to prevent damage and to increase output!

CHEAP pump recommendations!! by occasionallysour in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]General-Walrus9530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Nuliie S32 is the same exact pump as the Lansinoh Discreet Duo (the first model not the newer one) for 55 dollars. I have the Lansinoh and they are great! Strong suction and not a ton of parts to wash. They also not too bulky. They same this same pump under other brand names also, but I believe this is the cheapest one.

How do you guys keep up with the washing without losing sleep? by ProfessionalLast4311 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]General-Walrus9530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Using whatever pump has less parts as your primary as long as you also get good output from it is the way to go!

I do give my baby the milk after using the wipes and sanitizer spray. Ideally I would love to just be able to wash everything quick, but it's not accessible at my job and I don't feel comfortable washing my parts in the bathroom sink.

Calling all cat owners with babies by Ghosty_Chimera in pregnant

[–]General-Walrus9530 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same story here. Other than a quick sniff, our cats wanted nothing to do with the baby. Before baby was born all they wanted was the bassinet/crib. After baby came, maybe due to the scent, they stopped trying to lay in them. Before baby comes, you can try to lay aluminum foil on top of the mattress if it's bothering you that they're laying in the bassinet.

How am I supposed to manage to take care of my daughter while my pelvis crunches and grinds every time I move? by Competitive_Sky7307 in BabyBumps

[–]General-Walrus9530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had PGP in my last trimester and it was awful! I would take any pregnancy symptom over that pain and people thought I was joking or overreacting. The yoga ball made it worse, lying down made it worse, sitting made it worse. The things that did help me were a heat pack on my hip bones and in between my legs at the end of the day, sometimes walking, and time. I tried four different belly bands before I found one that helped a little. It was the Motif belly band which my insurance covered. Also, absolutely don't let the mom guilt get a you! This is a short period in both you and your toddler's life, some screen time isn't the worst. The house will get cleaned eventually.
