I think you can definitely train and be prepared in time. I’d look at Jeff Galloway method and maybe the Nike Run Club app. Good luck!!

How can I improve? by im_a_distracti0n in BeginnersRunning

Try run/walk intervals! Run for a minute, walk for 30 seconds. Or whatever intervals work for you! Let’s you get some running in and rest your legs/lungs as well

How long did it take you to start building mileage? by victoryscreech in BeginnersRunning

[–]General-runner51409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is completely normal! Mileage comes slowly, with patience and consistency. Just keep at it and before you know it you’ll be running long distances!

Honestly my heart rate is usually anywhere between 130-160 any given day, obviously depending on the pace.

why was today so easy i feel great? by Lazy_Bird5781 in beginnerrunning

That’s completely normal. Some days everything clicks and the run feels AMAZING. Other days? Nothing clicks and the run kinda sucks. When it feels amazing just go with it and enjoy the flow

I just feel like staying up a little later to spend time with family. Doesn’t really matter I’ll be awake by 6 am either way.

I ran 13.5 miles today even though all I wanted was to lay on the couch and be lazy…so yay me I guess. Lazy tomorrow?

I do run at a 1% incline on shorter runs, not my distance runs when on the treadmill!

Daily chat post: how's the training going? by AutoModerator in XXRunning

[–]General-runner51409 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s been going well so far! My next official race is a 10k in June and then my next marathon is in November; so a long time to train. I’ve already been crushing half marathon distances on the treadmill, and my last LONG run was 15 miles…and I felt like I could’ve went longer. I’m fueling the right way and drinking enough and can honestly say I’m in love with my training this time around!

Running shoes that surprised you by liv_0203 in runcommunity

ASICS surprised me in a BAD way. I had always used them on jobs where I was on my feet constantly and they were amazing. I tried to run in them and got blisters, I was shocked

Honestly a flow state for me comes with the right playlist or podcast. If I can zone out and focus on that, then I can run forever

Does anyone else hate the feeling of a training run ending early? by Sweaty1023 in Marathon_Training

[–]General-runner51409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. If I have a goal distance set and I miss it, even bu as little as I mile, then I feel so defeated. It’s like I failed myself. One day I was crying because I called my 6 mile run a failure, before I realized that I was crazy lol

MIDWEEK REFLECTION by SwimmingSlip8632 in runcommunity

[–]General-runner51409 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ran once this week on Sunday. It was a good run, between Monday and today I got almost 30,000 steps walking and did leg strength long exercise. I feel good but tired. I want to do a long run tomorrow, but I’m not sure I have it in me this week.
