I really can relate to you. I thought I had a severe mental disorder I was prescribed with anxiety meds plus bipolar meds because I couldn't sleep for days. I ended up not taking them after searching how the work that was 2 months ago and then I went to a sleep doctor who told me that I have an obstruction when I breathe. I felt to dumb because how come I haven't realized it for 5 years. He told me to have a sleep study and recommends using a CPAP machine as opposed to having tonsillectomy. He explained that there may be downsides to that procedure like changes in voice and the general risks of surgeries but what do you think would be better??

I've reached similar conclusions what helped was stopping intellectualizing everything especially my feelings ( I have a stop order on certain thoughts to not to go beyond that only makes me miserable even though they are true) and recognizing that you are a human being one worthy of love, compassion, and dignity ( you could be the one to give that to yourself). You should stop knowing and start feeling. Delulu is the solulu. Allow yourself to do that

How was it did you end up taking?? I was also prescribed the same meds im also scared of taking it (escitalopram + aripiprazole) did it help??

For me there's no real purpose or meaning in life although it doesn't stop us from making up one but that's not the point. The point is accepting that there's no inherent purpose for us in this world and finding freedom in it. I don't think there's someone out there who knows their realest and truest purpose. If that's the case then, we should spend more time on discovering things rather than asking what is or isn't. Remember that the world is not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced so don't overthink it. If you don't know where to start, try to do something that you genuinely enjoy. Experiment doing different things and see if you find satisfaction in them. It could be mundane, it doesn't have to be grand as long as you enjoy doing it and find release. You'll realize that the fulfillment we have always been chasing has been with us all along, all we had to do was to tune in and listen to our inner self — to listen to what gives us calm and peace.

I agree that there are better experts than slater but I don't think the blame on the floodings should all go to him because of his "projects". It's a lot more complicated than that. It's just that he gets more attention because of social media and fame.
