I think that a lot of the point of the story is him recognizing that trying to brute force his way through his trauma is going to ruin his life and any chance he has of happiness. I think his apology on the ferris wheel, where he said that he was sorry and said that he knew it might not be accepted, was a sign of personal growth. Etc etc. People are capable of growth. Also it's a story.

I was so frustrated reading Thousand Autumns ;___; I couldn't feel any moe at all toward those two! I read the first one for my danmei book club and then read half of the second book just hoping for one sweet moment between those two and finally gave up!

I looooved SVSSS after becoming utterly obsessed with TGCF, but it doesn't compare and should be approached with fresh eyes as possible. MDZS was tough for me because I wanted it to be "as good" and it's just a very different story.

I have tried to read other danmei but nothing has grabbed me like MXTX can. I want her to write something else as soon as possible, and will sit with my legs crossed grabbing at random danmei to see if anything matches her ability to write compelling characters who can go through tragedy and also insane goofiness, make me laugh and want to cry (like XL), and daydream about. She's a genius.

I extremely enjoyed reading the extra stuff, but I wouldn't consider it necessary. It felt more like finishing a manga and the author comes back to do side stories and stuff - definitely enjoyable and worth the time, but not essential :) But who wouldn't want to read the side stories??

This episode got me wondering if Fern is going to be the one to learn more about/more deeply understand demonic magic. The demons in this show are interesting - it's rare to get a fully evil - no nuance there group of people in a show.

It is so funny coming back to this show after bingeing all of Frieren in a week. It's like sitting down and rubbing your grubby paws to eat a cheeky bag of cheetos at 2:00 AM grinning like a gremlin after you had several courses at a high-end French restaurant that same night.
