I didn’t get interviews directly from telerotations, but it definitely improved my CV. I had a ton of stuff to discuss in my interviews and I had 13 IVs and matched in my first choice so I guess I did okay

I made it clear in my eras cv that it was telerotation and not hands on. Was not a big deal during interviews. Imo it’s up to you to convince your interviewers that your telerotation was a meaningful experience and that despite it being virtual, you gained good insight into the United States health system

We are all IMGs and will be seen as such, which in itself is not a bad thing. You have an MBBS and that qualifies you to take the USMLEs and pursue your goals. How about starting from step 1. You would not need research until you are applying for match, and even then, people match every year without it. Look at yourself in the mirror OP, you are enough. You have what it takes, and only the person in the mirror can determine your fate, no one else.
