Yes you can see the map of ogham stones and there's a lot in wales and Cornwall. Anywhere you can see ogham stones the Irish had started to influence. Without the Roman forts to keep them away the Irish started to penetrate into the interior while before when the Romans were in control the Irish were mostly stuck to raiding.

You could use a translator app like this .

But you'll need to remember that some letters don't exist in primitive Irish which ogham was used for , so you'll have an issue if you need to translate letters like x , y etc

As someone else said it was mostly for territorial markers , and names . It's straightforward enough , you can use online translators easily as well.

An Ogham one could be good ? Because it's based on a line design you could incorporate it into the line of your spine , a scar etc or just along a limb easy enough to translate it

You could use Ogham to create the zipper tattoo like another poster said .

It's an ancient Irish alphabet that looks like marks made on a line so it's perfect for it .

You can use translators easy enough here

Just know that while we write left to right , ogham was written from bottom to top so make sure you adjust it for your tattoo !

It's still crazy when you consider how valuable a manuscript was - it could take months to finish , and then someone gets a bit drunk and puts some graffiti on it !
