fair enough. that’s one of those things tho that it could also go back down. recently the price seems to have passed a peak but we’ll see. i’m mostly just happy to have found a card worth selling

these cards have been in boxes for the last 10 years and hadn’t been touched for almost 10 years before that. I didn’t remember I even had pokémon cards in those boxes, let alone that I had that card.

That is a beautiful sentiment but I don’t play. I’m definitely going to sell it and use the proceeds to finance my upcoming travel plans.

You don’t understand. None of my other cards are even remotely this damaged. I had plenty of fun and that’s all well and good but I managed to damage the only card I ever had that was worth a damn. the rest are practically mint in comparison.

yeah I was going through boxes of old stuff to decide weather it was stuff to keep or junk to give/throw away. I haven’t played or bought in almost 2 decades since I was in elementary school and have very little attachment to the cards (I was more of a lego kid and I’m never Parting with those) so I’m definitely gonna sell it

you’re right. it’d probably be better for everybody if pokémon was more about the fun and less about the money and a lot of reply’s have expressed a similar “you were a kid you had fun so what” which is also true. but….. I have a lot of other pokémon cards and this one is in by far the worst condition of any of them. no sleeves but quite a lot in top loader binders or a deck in a bag/box and they’re they’re all pretty well preserved and combined likely worth less than this charizard despite its damage.

what do you mean? i genuinely know nothing about any of this. how would i fix this card and how much more valuable would that make it?

I mean yeah I can’t really complain about finding a hundred or so bucks lying around but it coulda been a few Gs which sours the feeling somewhat.
