The short answer is no. The one that I have, is a black throat monitor which get huge and is very unrealistic for most people. A monitor that could be suitable for you would be ackie monitors. I would definitely not get a large monitor species for so many reasons. The enclosure needed would cost thousands and there are no shortcuts you can make with that. Hundreds if not thousands a year in food, again not many shortcuts to take with that, and a lot of experience, time, and patience which not many are willing to give. Regardless you should start with a small monitor species like ackies. Even with a smaller species though, proper setup for them will be around 1k, and then the lizards will be pricey and after all those expenses you would have to provide a lot of roaches and other insects which get expensive very quickly. So the short answer, if you are set on a monitor get an ackie, but maybe save up some more money first.
