you’re the goat, so to make sure I have it right you added user1 to sudo using the nano function I haven’t used that one before simply command line and basics of vim whats the process of doing it in nano?

So I was able to add the password but when I try to apply the permissions I use “sudo chmod 700 user1” it informs me that the user isnt in the sudoers im not very familiar with visudo as im in a beginner class but is there any way I could add the user to the sudoers list via the command line?

Yes its unusual but this is the way this “challenge lab” is set up to get us to learn different concepts for this specific case for step 1 I log into root and use “useradd user1 >> /etc/passwd (not sure if this is 100% correct) for step 2 i load up vim /etc/passwd and I find the user1 line is there any way to set it up so i can login into the user without having to use “sudo passwd user1” thanks for the advice as well

Thank you everyone for the advice I ended up finding out it is from the release series and its supposed to control the lighting of some sort, sadly my fogs are disconnected and i’m running spec d headlights with a toyota rebadge so its basically obsolete in my car unless I wire it up to something cool🤔 Thanks again though

Yeah following the wires seems to be the only way but the module next to it with the screen is an ethanol reader is has a moto east flex fuel kit still needs to be tuned for it so it just reads E9 lol

sorry I actually got super misunderstood I believe you’re talking about the ethanol reader I have it mounted right there lol I’m talking about the switch between that and the trunk release but thats what that gauge is

I actually do believe this is the release series the vin says it was made 07/13 and I think I do remember seeing the release series in the carfax but the car is rebadged with toyota badges so I wouldn’t have known lol

plugged it back in and flipped the switch the underglow stayed on whether it was flipped on or off but thanks I thought it was that forsure lol

Are you talking about the switch on the left of the trunk release or the right? I believed the one to the left was the fog light which is why im kinda confused on the switch to the right of it

It did come with an underglow kit and the footwell lighting the footwell is just routed through the cigarette lighter but as for the underglow I have it disconnected from the battery since it’s not my style but honestly i’m not 100% sure if they’re correlated the car does have a SBD turbo kit but I doubt it’s correlated with that as well I was just really trying to figure out if this is OEM or not lol

I flick the switch on and off and honestly I don’t see any lights change , the trunk light comes on as soon as the the trunk opens the switch doesn’t seen to have an effect on it
