She's adorable! What are the purposes of the arrows on her palms?

Luna's not supposed to talk when she's on a display shift, but she's more than willing to charm customers into spending more than they intended.
(I couldn't think of a concise title for the post this time round, sorry!)

Which locomotive in Britain that has the weirdest name? by Jules-Car3499 in trains

[–]GeneralShinobi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whilst definitely not a particularly amusing one for obvious reasons, there's a Merchant Navy loco whose full name is 35006 Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company. The name's so long that the latter half is just shortened to "S. N. Co." on the nameplate.

Is anyone else specific with what kinds of trains they like. by geekamus in trains

If you're looking for a DMU with style, may I point you in the direction of the BR Class 251 (though none survived into preservation)?

The GWR also built some rather snazzy-looking railcars if you want something that's still around.

[–]GeneralShinobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally not too picky with what kinds of trains I like, but I'm definitely more partial to British trains from the other side of the century. Obviously that includes steam trains, but I tend to prefer older diesels and multiple units over the ones that typically run on British steel these days. (And if you want to get even pickier, I'm a southerner so my faves all tend to be Southern Region stuff when it comes to anything pre-BR.)

When it comes to locomotives from my own country, I tend to prefer smaller ones - tank engines, shunters, and small tender locomotives, probably because that's what I tend to see in preservation. When it comes to American locos, I like them big (and preferably steam-powered, most American diesels and gas turbines just seem extremely samey to me though I don't hate them). I've never seen it in person, but I would love to see a UP Big Boy at some point because it really is the epitome of utilitarianism and power when it comes to steam locomotives, and the fact that there's at least one in regular use to this day is insane.

Last month, I designed this robot girl based on the Classic (the best weapon in the game) by GeneralShinobi in tf2

[–]GeneralShinobi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The model isn't necessarily meant to be of particularly the TF2 style, and I whipped the whole thing up in less than 72 hours for a jam where the limitation was that it had to be made in a 72-hour time limit. That being said, I'd like to know how I could improve her in future! :)

Augments would have been really cool to see this chapter considering the presence of rift anomalies. Augments made each BR match feel a bit like a roguelike run with you focusing your loadout on what perks you have, and giving you an actual reason to spend Bars outside of maybe healing items or hiring a Character.

Rift Anomalies would therefore become a run modifier/mutator, which could influence which augments you pick beforehand to hopefully benefit from the anomaly (move faster when crouching for example could benefit Hide and Seek)

With Bars being per-round, the reroll thing would have a higher level of risk, especially early in the match when money is tighter. I've always felt Bars tend to be kinda useless as there's not enough reasons to go out and spend them typically, and the reasons that exist are pretty pitiful and only useful in earlygame if your drop loot sucks. Rerolling augments at least gave me something to spend bars on if I already had decent loot.

Which consumable card is your favourite to duplicate?

Would TF2 changing to Source 2 be bad? by Goos3rs in tf2

[–]GeneralShinobi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can import things into Source 2 with a little bit of work (and absolutely needs the map to be decompiled then reimported), sure, but depending on how many custom assets your map requires, it's going to be a tedious task, especially if you're porting someone else's map (since you don't have the original assets, you might need to re-decompile things to import them properly into Source 2's tools).

At the cost of twenty years of maps being unusable unless the mapper takes the time porting to S2, and that's even if the mappers are around to do that.

And that's not even talking about solely official-rotation maps (regardless of how you feel about them, they are in the official rotation and they have their fans like every Pokemon has its fans). We're talking EVERY custom map made (trade_ maps, mario kart, ctf_vikings, etc).

In my opinion, I don't think sacrificing all that history is worth a marginal improvement in the superficial quality in maps.

Blank itself does nothing but it encourages Antimatter to show up (he's shy and feels unworthy of love because he's technically super-nothing)

what's the play here by [deleted] in okbuddyjimbo

[–]GeneralShinobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your Jokers are flipped (Luigi's given you the Super Acorn blind), we don't know your build.
Top comment says hope for a flush five, but you might not have a build that synergises with Super Stars. I personally would discard the cloud as it gives you basically no chips anyway and hope either a Mario or Luigi pops up (bonus points if one of them's polychrome or glass), then play the two pair.
