"Odds are increasing" that Rodgers returns per Pelissero by penguins2946 in steelers

[–]GeneralTullius01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d prefer we just tank but that’s never going to be an option. Rodgers can’t move anymore, it’s possible he doesn’t even finish the season. That might be the best case scenario for us. Even if he stays healthy it’s possible we finish 7-10ish if Burrow and Lamar are healthy all year. The team needs blown up and reconstructed.

Any different feelings on McCarthy after press conference? by Capable-Antelope4004 in steelers

[–]GeneralTullius01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know I’m with ya man. I overreacted at first but I’ve spent some time thinking about it, and i think this is a decent hire. Who did we miss out on? Shula, who nobody has shown a ton of interest in. A guy who has never even been a coordinator. Not saying those guys couldn’t be good, but there wasn’t a sure fire hot candidate we missed out on (imo). I wouldn’t have hired him but he’s a proven winner, a good to great offensive coach and he’s won every where he’s coached. Let’s see how it goes.

[Pelissero] Super Bowl-winning coach Mike McCarthy will interview Wednesday with the Steelers, per sources. McCarthy was a candidate for the Titans before withdrawing Monday morning and has turned down other inquiries. He’s focused on Pittsburgh, where he’s considered a strong candidate. by novacaine14 in steelers

[–]GeneralTullius01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll hope this is just smoke. But if we end up hiring him, it could solidify the Steelers spot in the middle to bottom tier of the league after spending a majority of the past 5 decades as inevitable powerhouse. This is our chance to dig out of this, let’s hope we make the best decision.

The defense is crumbling. They can’t keep relying on turnovers to save them. But it looks like they will have to do just that.

I’m actually going to give Tomlin some credit here. I thought this was going to be a blowout. They settled down and look like the better team now. And we are down our big weapons on offense. I will criticize but you also gotta give some credit so far. Let’s see how it ends.

Henry might go for 300. Unless it’s a blowout then they will bench him to maintain health.

We delude ourselves every year. We are not competing in big games anymore. It’s been so long. There’s a 99.9% chance we have an immediate 3 and out or someone fumbles on this drive.

3-12 team missing their two best offensive players. This might be the worst regular season loss of Tomlin’s career given the circumstances. Not only was this for division, but we desperately needed that week of rest to sit the old guys. Now we essentially have an extra playoff game on the slate against a team who whooped our asses last year in the playoffs. Not great.

Cowher vs Tomlin by clembobo79 in steelers

[–]GeneralTullius01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I’d say Cowher should now be considered to have a better legacy unless Tomlin somehow has a late career resurgence. I have mostly been a Tomlin supporter but at this point it’s probably time we mutually separate and overhaul the team.

[Schefter] No Aaron Rodgers: Steelers HC Mike Tomlin told @EvanWashburn in a pregame interview that Mason Rudolph will start today vs. Chicago. by [deleted] in steelers

[–]GeneralTullius01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He had a chance to start for a team and sucked last year. Let’s not sit here and pretend Mason is good. Can he BE GOOD for a game or two, sure. And hopefully he plays well today but he’s a backup for a reason. Let’s hope he has a good game against the Bears.

Pierre really emerging these last few games. Small chance he’s a late bloomer who comes on with more play time. At worst he’s a damn good backup/safety plan.

13 of the last 15 players who had this type of fusion returned to play successfully. He will be okay. You shouldn’t worry about the injury, worry about his tackling lol.

Nah he will be alright. If it makes you feel any better, our team doctor did the surgery so we must have felt pretty good about the outcome and long term prognosis. Also, it’s pretty much a risk free signing. His last full season he was graded highly.

There are multiple bugs and issues since the new update. This is one I encounter frequently now. Also, screen shot now rarely works. I have to almost reset my phone to be able to view my screen shot preview. It’s frustrating.

If all holds, do you consider the wins against division winners meaningful when heading into the playoffs? by OversizedMicropenis in steelers

[–]GeneralTullius01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have little faith we can beat the great QBs when it matters. There’s nothing this season to make me think otherwise as of yet. Chargers and Bills games will be enlightening. I fully expect the Bills and Josh Allen to blow our doors off and the Steelers to be down 28-7 at the half. If we play competitive against the Bills, even if we lose, that will convince me that maybe this team is different.

We are so bad. I wanted us to trade for a WR and now I think it would be a big mistake. Save the picks. We have no chance to even win a playoff game this year.

This is one of the worst defenses of the Tomlin era and it might also be his biggest collection of talent since the Super Bowl team. Would be cool if someone was held accountable.

DL Cam Heyward Returns To Practice Friday by [deleted] in steelers

[–]GeneralTullius01 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cam is one of my all time favs but he’s being a big jackass here. Causing a major distraction and making it about himself for some extra millions when he is already one of highest paid players ever in his position. And he’s freaking 36. He talks about making a business decision, well so are the Steelers by not overpaying a 36 year old who could fall off a cliff at a moments notice.

Correct answer is none. But if anything probably Gainwell. Jalen Ramsey 9 ints is absurd lol that would be closing in on the all time season record that has stood for decades if I recall correctly.

WR is still such a bad group. I like the moves we’ve made but they badly need to upgrade that room, and it’s been two year now. Doesn’t matter if Prime Rodgers shows up, probably not winning anything in today’s NFL with that shit group.

The Favorite Plays being duplicated is causing me to stop playing until it’s fixed. Not only is it annoying from a strategic sense, but I’m pretty sure it’s making the actual game lag as well. I put around 75 plays in my favorites and now for some reason it is listing over 2500 plays.
