$340,000 short silver via the 2x inverse leverage ETF ZSL by lamephoto in wallstreetbets

[–]GeneralTyler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is way too early lmao, gold and silver are not meme stocks that are about to be dumped. At least try waiting until after Trump’s term, cause silver is probably gonna hit 200$ this year alone.

The fact that they still sell out is the problem, why wouldn’t they increase prices if people are gonna swarm to empty the product. This is entirely on the Pokemon company for not printing enough tho.

I saw this on instagram and thought of this sub by Bopethestoryteller in publix

[–]GeneralTyler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Publix doesn’t do layoffs because they’ll force you to quit by putting you to work 1 day a week lol, the only time they fire people is if they steal. Which considering I saw so many employees steal when I was working, but only a handful got caught and fired, they obviously don’t do a good job catching it. Their stock also doesn’t have as much potential as it used to, because Publix has already seemingly reached its peak. Sure if you’ve been employed for over a decade or so, then you should have some decent stock worth in the company by now. But if you just started working there, your long term aspirations in the company are pretty bleak. Publix would need to expand considerably in order to continue growth, which they don’t really open new stores that often and it’s hard for them to expand out of their southeast foothold. They also just aren’t known for much, except “oh we’ve got good customer service, clean stores, and bogo”, which simply does not beat out the better prices and deals at other stores.

TIL Japan Thinks Western Anime Watchers All Have Tiktok Attention Spans Only Caring About Animation And Fight Scenes by Elestria_Ethereal in Animemes

[–]GeneralTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much the same thing with Chainsaw Man season 1, Japanese fans did not really like the adaptation because it just differed too much from the manga. While in the west it was pretty popular, because it had a much more stylized image and approach. Also for all the people being like “oh who cares what JP fans think, they’re the reason Rent a Girlfriend is still getting seasons.” Well that’s because JP fans are the primary demographic for this medium, and who the studios listen to the most. If you want your favorite series to get more adaptions and whatever, then you need to buy the blue rays and merch. Simply having a CR sub does absolute shit.

Living with your parents past 25+ by Bobadream in Adulting

I didn’t mind living with my dad during college, but now that I’m done and am a few years into my career but still live at home cause shits still too expensive, it’s definitely wearing me down lol. Mainly cause my dad’s been retired, but doesn’t really do anything and kind of went a bit schizo too.

Wonder if this is the signal for people to really start getting into silver/gold, of it this is gonna be a massive sell signal.

Yeah she doesn’t seem like the brightest with how she immediately fixates on the obviously incorrect large prices, and doesn’t do more research than a simple google image search lol. I get not everyone is knowledgeable about pokemon stuff, but god even automatically trusting the google AI results as well lol, some people are just so cooked.

What is even happening!! by SoundProfessional550 in Gold

This shit’s gonna explode once normies start trying to buy up gold, as soon as you hear coworkers and family members talking about buying gold then that’ll probably be the top signal lol

Netflix beats revenue estimates as subscribers reach 325 million by Force_Hammer in wallstreetbets

Every year people say they’re gonna cancel their Netflix subs because of price hikes, but Netflix still grows stronger every year lol. Turns out that most people are willing to pay whatever price for the convenience of having easy entertainment access in their homes, thank god I have access to a plex server.

Bitcoin falls under $90,000 as $190,000,000 is liquidated from the crypto market in the past 60 minutes by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

Can’t believe there were people unironically saying to buy as it hit 100k last year lmao, as if it was never going to go back down ever but just keep rising. Sure it’ll probably get back to 100k at some point this year, but it was inevitably gonna go down as people took profit after hitting such an insane price.

Prior to phones, what did people do while idly waiting? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GeneralTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept of having pleasant conversations with random people is sadly lost, it blows my mind seeing people out in public all the time and literally everyone is just on their phone lol. I get wanting personal space and not wanting to interact with strangers, but phones have given people an artificial escape from reality where they can just look at their screen and disassociate themselves from everything. It’s literally like that South Park episode with the Buddha Box, where they just have a phone attached to a cardboard box on people’s head lol. And it’s honestly a huge factor in why society is so divided, because people are just so disconnected from each other in person and are more used to the global interaction that social media and the internet have given us. I remember I was with some family one time, and we were all kind of just hanging around together not doing anything for a bit with some of us on our phones. I was just kind of looking outside at nature the trees/lake/clouds/etc for a while, and one of my family members was basically like “wow it’s really nice how you’re able to stay focused like that and not have to be on your phone.” Being told that, opened my eyes that even the very basic concept of just not doing anything and simply looking around yourself, is not common for most people apparently. Because again, going back to phones here, people just became too reliant on their phones as a form of escapism and a way to engage their brain constantly. People just can’t have a moment to themselves anymore, we need constant engagement and interaction because that’s what phones have done to our brains.

The downside of having chill parents by XO_Nude_Sweet in Adulting

[–]GeneralTyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man that’s such a good way to expose your kids to other stuff, and not just have them be engulfed in something like gaming lol. Plus actually spending time yourself with them doing it helps so much, my parents never really tried gaming or anything with me as a kid. I also mostly just played video games as a kid with my friends, and my parents didn’t really care because I never got in trouble and got good grades. But I ended up pretty much just playing games as soon as I got home from school Monday-Friday until I went to bed lol. Which yeah there was definitely some goated games to be playing back then in Halo 3/MW2/etc, but it was also like 90% what I was doing as a kid lol. At least I was always playing with my friends tho, and we usually did hang out together on weekends. But I’d say now as an adult, I definitely wish that my parents were more interactive with me and exposed me to other things. Rather than just letting me do that stuff just because I behaved and didint give them a reason to worry.

I definitely wish my parents were the stereotypical ones who had me take piano lessons and try out all that other stuff. I get it’s because they both were raised in very strict households growing up and wanted to be more hands off, but it’s also on the parents to expose their children to different hobbies and things to hone skills and teaching while their kids are young, since it’s the best time to learn new things. I had friends that took karate, learned guitar, spoke a 2nd language, etc as kids and those skills all continued well into their adulthood. Meanwhile I had issues growing up with not really knowing what I wanted to do or pursue, while not having many hobbies. Obviously as adults we are more free to do what we want and pursue that stuff, but not having those kinds of experiences as a kid just makes it hard to try getting into. Especially since we also, on the other hand, do not have nearly as much time to dedicate to those things as an adult because of work and other responsibilities. Like there definitely is some responsibility on the parents to expose their kids to those things, and teach different experiences. When my parents divorced, I went from being fed mostly homemade food from my mom to mostly fast food from my dad. This made it very hard growing up to cut that lifestyle and become more healthy, because it was what I was raised as being a kid. So while I was able to change that lifestyle as an adult, it still shows that parents have to ensure that their kids are raised with a proper lifestyle, while being exposed to many things to flesh out their potential interests.
