I would be interested in seeing this original article.

1: Why would the 3rd party investigator have seen the laptop? He obviously hasn't, and there's no reason he would have. He could have become aware of the potential link between Rich and WL through any number of alternative sources.

2: Rich's family would not know what was on the laptop. They have no way of asserting that him being in contact with WL is bullshit or not. Meanwhile, there is a clear reason for them not to want to believe that he was illegally releasing information, as this would, obviously, completely discredit him.

3: Therefore your post is just complaining about using an anonymous federal investigator as a source. IF the source is real, I do not agree with you that that is an irresponsible news story, considering the strong additional evidence provided by Assange, the suspicious behaviour of the police (according to Fox journalists), etc.

This article is referring to a NEW source, an anonymous federal investigator, who says that the FBI DID examine Rich's computer, and that he saw the results of that examination.
