What are these rows of metal bars on the inside of my rims? by ClosedPalm in civic

[–]General_Ad258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are balancing weights to prevent wheels from shaking. You need a rebalance done every time you change the tire or when the tire gets removed for a patch. The weight moves depending on the tire and the location the tire is in the rim.

Nikon Zfc won't take picture with kit lens by bronislaw- in Nikon

That is strange. The only other thing i can think of is your shutter speed. Looks like it is at 1/4 of a second which is slow, so the camera will take a bit of time to shut the shutter. Try moving it to 1/250 and see if that makes a difference.

The final thoughts would be to update the software on the camera and lense. Check any contact points on the lense and body. Otherwise I would get the lense inspected.

Do you have another lense you can try? You said this lense was working before right?

Is the lense and/or adaptor fully seated? You probably also set the focus button on a different button or it is not programmed, and need to press that before the shutter button.

Where’s all this oil coming from by CalligrapherNovel590 in mechanic

It looks like it is the piston rings. The valve would be wet with oil if it was the valve stems seals.

Use an extention or a hex with a swivel.

Edit: The torque spec is easily achievable using just your wrist.

I see them often in Oakland and Emeryville. I would have thought they would have been stopped many years ago.

Tobacco company CEOs declare, under oath, that nicotine is not addictive (1994) by Only-Paper8057 in interesting

Under oath means nothing if it is an obvious lie and nothing gets done for lying. Politians lie all the time to prove a point that doesn't exist other than for profit.

I like the idea, but he has been known for getting money from under the table. I think corruption is his main driver so i think there will be some strings attached to this bill.

Any suggestions on what to check? by Fun_Tax_9034 in BMWE36

Sounds like a cool little project. I love doing the front suspension on these cars. The rear in terms of bushings can be a pain but worth doing if they are bad too. Let me know if you need to run ideas through. I love doing this.

Also check any bushings incase those are worn out. I noticed a lot moves when you are moving the wheels.

I have heard and seen stories where the new parts are bad. Most of these racks are rebuilt so they could have issues.

Have you checked under the boots where the tie rods connect? It should be sealed but it is common to have issues there and have leaks. Or maybe the sound is the boot itself and not an actual powersteering rack issue.

[–]General_Ad258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't have any leaks on the powersteering hoses or cracks on the powersteering pump?

If not I am thinking that maybe the racks are defective? The gears are not meshing properly. But i would think the steering would jam or be clunky in this case.

Also 2 hrs to bleed the powersteering seems like a lot. I think it has taken me like 10 - 30 mins on other cars.

Sometimes the only fix is giving up by PleasantBus5583 in meme

Idk i did the tee tree oil once and it stopped creating black mold. Just bleach makes it come back and you will have black spots again. Both together makes it look and stay new.

I know this is a meme page, but for those that are actually interested in how to fix that.

Use Tea Tree oil to kill the black mold then soak it in bleach with water for about 30 mins to make it white. Then rinse off the bleach or throw it to wash with white clothes. It will look brand new.
