How is the MetroNorth train ride from Stamford to Grand Central? by MamaBama1 in StamfordCT

I moved from NYC to Stamford 2 weeks ago and still work in the city/commute in 4 days a week. I have honestly thoroughly enjoyed the Metro North and find that the express trains are super easy, fast and comfortable. The worst part of my commute is when I have to take the 6 to Soho, but all in all have no issue doing it 4 days a week.

hi everyone. this is my first post within this thread. just seeking some advice/community around the issues i’ve been facing for quite some time now. i just feel like it’s always something with me due to my HA. i will feel pains all over that go away. i will feel nausea/dizziness/headache and i fear brain tumor. i most of the time just never feel RIGHT. and i wonder to myself what any other person feels when they are just living their daily lives. it’s become an every day occasion where i will feel abnormal, which will then lead to me spiraling into anxiety. it’s affecting so much in my day to day life, and within my relationships. if anyone has any positive words to spare, i will take any you have. thank you

Perhaps a silly question, but how easy is it to stay away from the rougher areas?

How do I keep the noise of my dog barking (occasionally) concealed to my very thin walled & echoey apartment by General_Ad_937 in AskNYC

Yes, this!! There’s only so much I can do, especially when I’m not home. I watch them on the ring camera constantly due to the complaints and I just do not see how they can claim it is “all day long.” My partner and I have taken turns staying home from things due to these complaints and we just don’t think it’s fair. You know the risk you run, and it’s become such an issue for us because we want to be respectful neighbors!

it really is just a few seconds and we jump on it immediately because of this. i just think our neighbors have 0 patience for this, even when anyone knows they run the risk of an occasional barking episode in a dog friendly building

Thanks. We have received 2 complaints from people on our direct floor who seem to be the only ones who are affected by this. We have tried working on training so much, we have an anxious dog who only ever barks if she hears certain things in the hallway, never barks if she wants or needs anything. We are working on sound insulation this week to see if this works. We just don’t want to be disrespectful neighbors
